What about the remake of Night of the Living dead???(1990) Tom Savini did a respectful job of remaking the film, kept true to the original and even improved on it making Barbara survive at the end.

For hard to watch death scenes Have you seen New York Ripper or Salo the 120 days of Sodam??? They are what I consider real sick films. New York Ripper has a torture scene that had me both horrified and fasinated at the same time and Salo forces its victims to eat crap in the 3rd act before brutaly killing them.

H1 H2 H4 and H7 are the only ones I care for in the series. They're not all masterpieces but they each bring something unique to the table. H1 offered great suspense and atmosphere. H2 scared us in a place where one should feel at ease (hospital). H4 showed that the story could change with the times. H7 brought back the suspense and everything that the series was supposed to be about. The remake trashed the characters, the story and turned Halloween into a joke IMO.

See that was what ruined the movie for me. In the original, Michael appeared to be a normal kid in a clean normal middle class family and one night he just snapped. That's fucking scary. Unpredictability and the idea of "less is more" is what makes 1978 Halloween a far superior film to the drawn out, eye candy filled remake. If you want a disturbing movie, watch Last House on the Left or I Spit on Your Grave. If you want hard to watch death scenes, check out Cannibal Holocaust ;)

i can NOT beleive how much people hated the remake of halloween!!! it was the best horror ive seen in years and actually scared the living crap out of me. im a huge horror movie buff and there are only a rare few that actualy creepede me out the way it did. watching him be as twisted as a kid as wat he was wen he got older was sickning. the secene where he kills his sister was sooooo disturbing and hard 2 watch and the mask being that little 2 big 4 him as a kid yuuukkk man creep as hell!!

I have seen Scalps as it came to Australia under the R18+ rating but it was very heavily censored and I would love to see the uncut version of the guy possesed by the indian goes Rambo on them litually with knives, arrows etc etc in a Friday the 13th way. Thank you and yeah I love Ken Foree but his part in the remake was completely unecessary. In the original we didn't see Michael kill the tow truck guy and steal his clothes so why make a whole character for him? It was just a way for Zombie to show off a great collaberation of horror actors in a shitty movie.

You are as good I must admit. Tommy pissed him off and since Tommy really killed him in part 4 and then brought him back by mishap it was more personal for Jason to overide his primal instinct. Jason does use a good amount of stragey to get his victims. Jason Mom did teach him that if its either Chystal lake, a boat or a space ship that its his area and intruders must be killed

Yeah but in Part 6 he busted a row boat just by hurling himself on top of it from the water. I mean it's in the movie like that and it isn't gonna change, but I guess that's a reasonable explanation. Yeah he let the street punks and dother people go because Jason is a killer with a one track mind. he picks a target and he follows it until he gets it. The only way he'll go off and kill someone else is if they get in his way or try to stop him.

Its hard to explain but it runs agasint his M.O to attack on a row boat. He knew that he couldnt stand up in the boat without turning it over and he wanted to kill them instead of the ocean. He had chosen those particular victims as once in New York he had every chance to kill new people there but he held back. The punks with the radio was easy street for him but he only scared them

Jason X was more a parody of the Friday the 13th series and as for a space horror film for me it stood well on its own two legs and was way better then the crappy part 5 which had NO Jason nor part 9 which was more gore and self mocking then actual story. He got on the ship yes but the ship never made it to Manhattan. The ship was taking in water thus forcing the few survivors to climb aboard a rowboat that they used to get to New York. Jason was last seen standing on the ship then the next time we see him, he climbs up a dock in New York. Did he walk on the ocean floor? Swim? Walk on water? I've been questioning that since I was 5 years old.

I don't hate 7, 8, or 9. I love Jason's look in part VII but didn't like the telekentic thing too much. Part 8 was the first one I watched in the series so it has a special place in my heart, but I really don't dig the whole Jason going to New York thing. Part 9 is actually one of my faves out of the series because it's so bloody and unique from any of the other movies in the series. But yes, Jason X and Part 5 are blegh.

Yeah I agree the Creeper could easily one of the scariest and intimidating horror characters out there. You can see though how in the 2nd movie, the Creeper wasn't as scary or badass like he was in the first movie. The classic BW movies are great! Most of them are much better than a good amount of today's horror films. If you want really good horror though, watch movies made from 1970-1995. That's my personal favorite horror era.

Jeepers Creepers I couldn't finish because I was younger when I tried watching it and it scared me terribly. Sadly, six years later I saw number two after stopping of being afraid of horror films, and personally.. I thought number two was, sad in the beginning, but not so impressive all the way through. I try to find the first one on scifi or TV but they never show it it seems. And I can't go out and buy the movie. :[ Parents won't let me becuz they don't like those. They like classic BW horror.

I heard rumors about it a few years ago. There was talk of making Heath Ledger the alleged son of Max or something like that but the idea got shot down and of course now with Ledger dead I doubt he will be involved. As of right now, there's nothing new in the Mad Max saga from what I've heard but I would expect a remake in the near years **sigh**

The only thing I would really consider muscle from AMC was the late 60s Ambassadors that looked similar to the Charger. Now AMX, well that's a different story :) The only movie that comes to mind that featured a Gremlin is Fast Times at Ridgemont High. I was thinking Wayne's World but that's a Pacer I believe, though I could be wrong.

Yeah, as a movie itself, Meat Train looked pretty good, but they definately should have picked a better title. It was the title that kind of threw me off. I actually saw the strangers last week and it actually was really good. I always found that the reason modern horror movies have been pretty bad was because they focus more on the blood than he scares. That's why I hate the Saw and Hostile movies (damn you Eli Roth, you are the bane of my existance!!). I really do hate Eli Roth.

I think this movie deserves a 31, it was a very low budget movie. And it was the seventies and all the special effect had to be bad. You hate this movie probably as much as I hate the "classic" Cannibal Holocaust. I don't care what anyone says, the movie took forever to get to any kill scenes, and they literally killed a tortoise in the movie and showed its insides, just to add a gore moment. It's one thing when it's fake gore, but actually killing an animal to add to the movie is a pathetic move. Also, Cannibal Holocaust has shitty synth music too.

I love the Blob, The Thing, Little Shop of Horrors and The Fly. #1, the films stuck fairly close to the original plot. #2, the remakes were either on level or above the original's quality of story and film. #3, They weren't movies slapped together to make a quick buck (maybe the Blob but not the others). If these asses remaking movies today would take notes from those filmmakers, they might learn something. Although, I'd prefer an end to this remake trend.

The remake of BLACK CHRISTMAS had little to nothing to do with the original film IMO. I think it should've been another sequel to the SILENT NIGHT DEADLY NIGHT series. No suspense, too much unnecessary violence and gore, and even worse acting than the original. Let's not forget yellow/orange Billy. SIN CITY anyone?
