I want to say that after we kicked the crap out of Japan and Germnany both, they both had to resort to some stupid stuff like this making their last few soldiers do suicide missions. It is pure desperation of a loosing team nothing more than that. In the end they still lost. Deservedly so.

the hellcat was an awesome fighter the plane was very heavy compared to a zero but very much stronger in every way. Flying a zero is like flying paper plates and tooth picks it is nothing but wood and paper. I am surprised those planes didn't fall apart in mid air.

Yes, so many of them died meaninglessly - they got shot down without being able to hit an enemy target. What's worse is that during the Pacific War, some kamikaze pilots got lost over the ocean (they received very little flight training) and never returned to base because they only had fuel for a one-way trip. Imagine the panic and ?? they felt as their fuel indicator neared the zero mark, and not knowing in which direction to fly...
