The movie was 1.5 hours, and the last half hour was action! HOWEVER, I would of loved to see more action too.. lol. This was a very similar case as Spl, a lot of buildup and then a decent climax of action. Maybe we will be a little luckier with yip man..I find that in Donnie movies, theres a good fight at the end, but during the other parts, theres very medicore to weak action scenes..

MMA is as much a fighting style as Jeet Kun Do. It is what ever you want it to be, often it uses the combinations mentioned below: jujitsu,grappling, kick boxing/ Western boxing, as these combinations cover a wide bredth of fighting ranges. Therefore it isnt really possible to say what MMA is, however what it is not is a rigid set of forms, patterns or a style, which is typical of most tradition martial arts.

this wasn't just about action, it was intended to dramatize the whole setup of it by having real touching drama so viewers can understand the characters better. executed in a typical way but still an effective one.

I don't know how to rate this movie. The final fight between Donnie and Collin is good but the rest of the picture was trying to imitate the other american movies. Also what I didn't like was the fact that you have to wait for almost an hour to see some martial art action. Seeing Donnie adopt a MMA style was good for a change.

I think it's interesting Donnie Yen uses MMA. I've always associated that form of fighting as being very western. It's interesting I say this considering Donnie was actually born in the United States. He also has a really interesting fight stance. But yeah, great fight, awesome movie. Some of those punches actually connected - painful! Good music, too. Collin Chou puts up a great fight and the choreography of this scene is absolutely amazing. Donnie always does a good job with these characters.
