Not everyone thinks the same way about autism, hon. Take heart. My son is autistic and I do not want to "cure" him or change him. I love the way he is. I love him for who he is, and autism may not define him, but it is a part of him.

oke this actually hurt my feelings im 16 years old and i have authism and to be honest i dont like the fact that the hole world is making such a big deal at it we just think diffrent in matter of fact all people are diffrent so in a way all people have a little authism it just breaks me that all people think the same about authism you cant know what is going on in their mind at a young age those little kids just need to evaluate but ofcourse their are authistic childs that

No one knows the reason behind autism. US News magazine had a report a few months ago and one scientest says that its evalution. Autistic children think with a different part of their brain then most people. Hench why in alot of cases they are more intellegent then you or I. Its a wave of different thinking and on a different level, perhaps superior to most of the human population. Could be just what this world needs, smarter people!

Sorry I know that you put this up 3 months ago but my on in special education and there is 2 teahers (we got lucky this year) and 2 classroom assistants. If one of the 4 of them had autism I would be over the moon. I wouldn't be as worried.

Just because peoples paces of learning are different doesn't mean you have to treat it like a disease. You people sicken me, you can't "cure" autism, because its not a disease! They might do strange things sometimes, but you don't have to poke fun at them, they aren't idiots like you portray them to be, in fact, most autistics are the smartest people in the block. I'm sorry you and your teachers don't have patience to teach them, but then again, a lot of things are wrong with the current world.

I only began to look at these videos because I'm writing a screenplay in which there is a family with an autistic child. But not only did I learn a whole new side of things, but also have been extremely touched by these vidoes. You know, the world is such a messed up place with people trying to tear you down and crush your hopes, but these parents are so strong. They didn't let anyone tear them down, and they didn't give up. God Bless them.

What I hate more is people who think autistic people are stupid, because many have talents most people could never accomplish. The school systems should be more open minded and helpful, rather than shoving medications down kid's throats.

The only thing that should be considered autism is people who are brain dead or vegetables later on in life, not people born with a symdrome. The only ones with a "problem" are the teachers who don't have the patience to accept that not everyone learns the same along with everyone else who doesn't have patience and accept this.

If everyone just accepted others the way they are instead of treating it like a disease, knowing that noone learns the same pace and not everyone learns the same way and that no two people are alike instead of "normal" people trying to conform everyone to the way they are, we wouldn't even need a "cure" You can't fix what's not broken.
