He beat Archuleta because Archuleta was boring. He may have a good voice but he didn't take the kind of risks Cook did. Cook was more original, did his own arrangements for many songs, never did karaoke and one can only listen to so many ballads. Cook had 11 songs on Billboard 100 at the same time-a record not seen since 1964 while Archie had only 3. That's not a coincidence--it's fact.

Again, Archuleta sells well to his target audience, Cook sells more to a collective audience. Collective being that he has more variety than archuleta from what we've seen, and it is the reason he won. Whether or not he is better than cook is debatable, whether or not archuleta should've won this contest is not. Archuleta's target audience will not beat a collective audience. If he wanted to win the competition, he would've taken a few risks and gone outside of his element. He didn't.

The reason that David Cook sounded 'better' was because this song suited his vocal attributes. David Cook has more of a 'rock' orientated voice, similar to Nickelback, Creed, Foo Fighters, etc. David Archuleta's voice is more all around, allowing for a better portrayal of the song through his tenderness and passion for the song. Considering that D.A.'s voice is softer and more (for lack of a better word) 'suave'. Those two attributes don't fit into this song, which requires a deeper, huskier-

I actually like Cook and know Cook, so why would I put him down. I just don't like it when people do not tell the truth about David Archuleta, whom Cook actually likes. Well this isn't an Archie vid but Archie fans spend 24/7 on DC's sites to put him down. No, I don't like Archie nor his kind of bubblegum music but I know a lot of people like that kind of sound and he should do well. They both have different genres and audiences. There are a lot of artists I don't like & plenty I do like so how can you feel sorry because I don't like Archie? He's just one of many artists in the music business.

This information is completely incorrect. "My boo.." was in the original song of "With You." You are referencing the situation that took place with "Stand By Me" and even that information is incorrect. Do you all believe everything that is written in TMZ and other journalistic reviews? Hmm...to each their own. Cook closes his eyes too if you watch once in awhile. David hardly licks his lips anymore, so whatever. And woo-woo, hm...I've heard Cook do this too. Imagine that...as for him looking and acting 12, well I don't know too many 12 years olds who can write the kind of music David has. Check out "Falling" by David Archuleta and tell me he acts 12. There are royalty issues so producers have to get the songs cleared first from the original artists. Archie added "my boo..." to a song and was told not to because he was part of another song & he did anyway to make the song more "hip" and the producers were pissed off because they didnt' get it cleared. Some artists don't want a particular singer doing their song because they don't want it butchered so they don't give permission. Doing covers of covers don't apply though & no permission req'd.

I don't have anything against Archie but frankly I got bored with him farily early on. A lot of them bored me but Cook never did. I thought I would shoot myself if I had to listen to another ballad of Archie's. He's a sweet kid & he was a good voice but the "woo-woo" & the eyes closed & licking of lips etc., was very annoying. He looks & acts 12 so I'm not into kids singing & a constant diet of ballads. Now he's doing tween pop-why didn't he do that during A.I.? It was like he was programmed.

David Cook is so awesome. On the finale night when he won I screamed so loud! I actually made posters and held them up during the show, just cheering him on. lol. I'm so glad that he won. Just because U2 is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, that doesn't means Cook's version automatically fails. It's still an opinion. Cook has loads of emotion, but has little time to express it here being they only get a couple of minutes per song. It's not like he is in a recording studio and has practiced this song over and over. His voice sounded great and he did a great job...my opinion.

The nice thing is...its opinion! And the opinions of millions seem to outweigh your's considering U2 is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But to stay on topic of the video, David is a good singer but I think he failed to capture the emotion that exists in the lyrics of this song. And since he failed to capture it he failed to express it which puts it below U2's performance of the song.

David's performance of Imagine has given it new, current meaning, and has brought it to the forefront again. Yoko Ono has been quoted as having loved David's version of the song.Nobody will ever replace John Lennon. All David wanted to do was sing a song he loves, and boy, did he ever do a magnificent job of it.

David's version of "Imagine" is incapable of being surpassed in my opinion. His version is equally good as Mr. John Lennon's. David's voice is so angelic and pure when he sings this; it is so amazing because it is like you can actually "feel" the song when he sings it.
