Remember how rock n roll was considered immoral when it first evolved into a distinct genre? I hope you can see the parallel between how your grandparents looked at rock n roll and how you're looking at rap and hip-hop. Obviously there is obscene, unintelligent, and meaningless "music" that is produced by rappers, but to dismiss the entire genre only shows that you don't care to find the beauty in it.
