If had watched this as a child, it would have given me nightmares. The expressions on some of the monkeys' faces before they made the ultimate mistake were really frightening...how their eyes bug out of their masks and all. *shudder* It's very informative and all, but it's scary.

I remember seeing this in Elementary School back in the early 70īs. It still freaks me out now and I had been thinking of this film lately and found it here. What a nightmare. the hospital scene scared me. Very surreal. Funny thing is, I was sure that they used real chimps for some of the characters. Anyone else have that memory?

Orville's followed the proper bike rules, and as a reward, at alot of shitty food and got off on the right path to childhood obesity and diabetes. Perhaps this wouldn't have happened if he had gone to see if his friends were alright, or mourn for the ones who were killed, but alas, he's an asshole. XD

The Moral? Obey bicycle safety. The cars will find you. They'll find you and fucking kill you. They're waiting, Just waiting for you to fall into their trap, then they'll get you. They won't show any mercy. Cars are your enemy. They'll murder you and rape your family.

What gets me more than the weird masks is Horton's smug narration. You can almost hear him chuckling to himself over the twee names ("Tinkerbell McDillingfiddy"?), the oblique swipes at the children's character flaws, and the cutesy epitaphs after every accident. At the end I wanted to Horton to choke to death on his whimsical smarm.

I love the old Capitol Hi-Q produciton music used here This and "Mondo Cane" are among 1962-63 most oddest and treasured public domain flicks.

Boy, I can't count the number of times I've almost been ran over by those pesky steamrollers. Good thing I tune up my brakes huh? Wouldn't this be considered some kind of animal cruelty nowadays?

I remember this freaky ass video from my childhood, I thought it was crap then too,but now it has nostalgic appeal. I also saw primus use clips of it at a show in st. louis to "here come the bastards". it was awesome!
