absolutely theyre possible but no way easy...applying english (or masse) to the cueball is a really difficult and advanced technique. Amateur's wont pick this up lightly ive been playing pool on and off my whole life and i can't even do it. ive only ever tried to do trickhshots probably about 4 or 5 times ever. but this guy really knows the technique well and he's made some great vids. good job Eric!

The red spots do not affect the shot directly, however they help to display the spin (intentional or unitentional). Also they help you to see any inconsistencies in your shot. There are probably other reasons but thats all I can think of.

It's a 70mb file so be patient. (By the way, this was filmed and edited early in my pool career so forgive the poor job and repetitive slow motion.)

Draw accelerates the cue ball after contact 1 and follow on contact 2, so the cue ball picks up extra speed once on the first rail and once on the third rail, and the running english lets it keep spinning forward at 2:55. At the end of the roll it isn't even momentum, it's just the spin crawling the cue ball along the table.

The Lord blessed me with a successful venture at the 2006 WPA World Championship. I placed 3rd overal under Tom Rossman (1st) and Mike Massey (2nd). In the Masse Discipline, I scored the highest score, being the only player to make all 5 masse shots (four of which were on the first attempt!!!). Praise the Lord!

If your kid (assuming you had a kid) was in a public forum and those around him/her were constantly saying "praise allah" and your kid came home questioning the religion you brought them up to learn and started questioning it from what they heard about "allah" or even "the devil" as there are devil worshipers, you probably would question it and be upset that it was preached publicly, especially if it were in school or at the local library. While I understand that some of these anti-religion comments are harsh, I don't agree that pool videos or anything else for that matter should be an avenue of spreading religion. We watch your videos to see great masse shots, etc. I don't see those in church myself. It would be nice to respect others religions by not pressing yours onto them with the comments at the end. Here is a game of 8 and 2 of 9-ball for all to see. None of the 3 are perfect outs, but they're outs nonetheless. Enjoy!

Huh? 5 shots? In the 8-ball rack he played one bad shot and that was the breakout on the first shot. The rest of the run was fine. First 9-ball rack was a pretty standard runout. The bank on the one-ball was a legit option, I probably would have cut it in, but it's hard to judge that without being behind the shot myself. In the last 9-ball rack, the position on the 4 was a touch wild IF it was possible to use RH english and hold the cue ball on the side rail and cut the 4. Otherwise good runs.

those outs were pretty amazing, especially with the 8 ball off a bank shot. the 9 ball rack with the long bank was something i reallly didn't expect. Personally i thought it would be easier to make a cut into the corner and let the cuebal return to the top left (from camera point of view) and break up some more of the balls. still, that was truly amazing

??? It's not speed pool, and he just accomplished what was needed. Many games and matches are lost due to ..not taking enough time to aim or stroke..failure to chalk up thus leading to miscues..getting too fancy with position play routes rather than just taking what the table leaves you. Mike Massey is an excellent 9-ball player. I wouldn't be suprised if Eric Yow was a lot better than people give him credit for, and could probably place quite well in pro-tournaments if that was his main focus.
