I'm not trying to spark a flame war, nor am I trying to lecture or proselytize. But, If my interpretation of Christian lore is correct, then Lucifer was the archangel of the Light. It seems that Lucifer was also the first angel cast out of Heaven, which was because of his pride. Apparently Lucifer believed that the Angels should have been loved above Man by the Christian God. I believe, with that information, Christianity fell into Darkness as Lucifer fell from Heaven, and has never come back.

Radio decay studies set the age of this planet @ 4.6 billion years, the distance of the stars has no impact on the age of the earth. Without getting to technical, us seeing light only manifests the idea that the light began before the number of years that it would take for it to travel such distances. The known Kosmos is theorized to have begun long before that even. Dig deeper and it will blow your mind. By the way, I am a theist.

The trees adapted? Its still totally out of line with the geologic record unless God fooled us with starlight that takes 14 billion years to reach the earth. Maybe he did this to test our faith lol. Because when it takes 14 billion years for starlight to teavel to earth than that would mean that trees would have had to have been at least 14 billion years old, but they dont appear in the geologic record until the Devonian, which was about 350 million years ago, if im not mistaken.

Except that it doesnt agree with scientific fact. It states that trees were formed by god before the stars and the sun were formed. Its out of order with basic knowledge that trees require sunlight to reproduce so obviously the sun would have had to have been created before trees, but its the other way around in genesis. So it doesnt matter if it means billions of years, its still all out of order therefor its all BS.

Schmoikel, I think you need to be aware of the quantum thermodynamic phenomena known as Vacuum Fluctuation. The bible makes references to the "end" of the world. This phrasing must not be taken literally. The begining go the bible was written in 4004 B.C., and references such as "talking snakes", and burning bushes were more or less the "slang" of the particular dialect that was used. Becoming a Christian is a conscious thing, not a religious thing. You can become a Christian in your own mind, if you truly believe that Jesus is the Son of God and you follow his teachings, without participating in any church rituals. Yes there are corrupt churches -- just as there are corrupt governments, corrupt courts, corrupt schools, corrupt police officers, corrupt families etc. I went on a mission trip for a summer remodeling homes for the less fortunate in Kentucky. The family I helped wasn't even religious. But we help put in a new floor and started to remodel his wall -- the next set of people were going to finish it.
