Damn his Jerry Lewis is spot on.... And singing all those different styles is pure talent.
By: BlackPhenom7. on 21 Nov 08, 14:23:34
I bet Sammy, Joey, Dino, Pete, and Frank are up there still singing, dancing, telling jokes, smoking cigarettes, and drinking Scotch. Long live the Rat Pack!
By: CinAcid100. on 21 Nov 08, 12:03:58
Awesome his Dean Martin is awesome. "Which way is the audience?" xD
By: stopper1941. on 17 Nov 08, 21:33:43
That was Dino that help up Sam and thanked the NAACP. And having seen that act in Chicago, it was their way of kidding each other. But you are right to say that Frank could be mean, straight away. Just look at how he cut out Peter Lawford cause JFK decided to go somewhere else to stay rather than his place in Palm Springs, all Peter's fault---right? Frank could be a jerk, even his best dago friend Dean said so.

When was this performed???
By: WhispGore. on 17 Nov 08, 21:00:48
Fantastic performance. Entertainers are rare now a days. Artists seem to need lasers and backing dancers etc. to captivate an audience. SDj managed to run a room alone.
By: gragrn. on 16 Nov 08, 06:00:00
No wonder they called him the greatest entertainer of all time. Fantastic, its good to be reminded of Sammy's genius.

This is a wonderful clip! Thank you so much for putting it up. I knew Mr. Davis was a fantastic performer, but I'd never seen his range like this before. Thank you again.

My age has nothing to do with what happened. You were there, congratulations - I truly wish I could have been. But your presence at a show does not make you an expert on the subject. So with regards to this question, I'll trust the authors of the half-dozen books I've read on the subject. I'm no expert, but neither are you. So cite some sources, baby!
By: RaptureMe2. on 08 Nov 08, 04:44:07
Wow! You know who looks like the young Sammy today? Alfonso Ribero who first starred in Silver Spoons then, Fresh Prince Of Bel Air. The resemblence is very uncanny.
By: luizoak. on 07 Nov 08, 19:33:48
I watch this video 4-5 times a week.
By: mikeylorene. on 04 Nov 08, 20:37:04
Don't wanna waste my time with a youngster who claims sure fire self knowledge against someone who was there. Believe what ya wanna, keed.
By: aggroskaterSTL. on 04 Nov 08, 19:02:08
Sammy did whatever he wanted, you claim. I suggest you read up on all the terrible things Sammy had to deal with that nobody else would. He was denied over and over again all sorts of privileges that even the average white person couldve enjoyed.
By: aggroskaterSTL. on 04 Nov 08, 19:01:59
And you say, That never happened when Sinatra was around. Are you kidding me? When Sammy said in an interview that Frank could be a mean person, Frank responded by saying something to the effect of, Fuck that lousy nigger! How about the time he held Sammy up and said, Id like to thank the NAACP for this award! Or all the racial jibes he had to put up with onstage while Frank insulted him from behind the curtains?
By: aggroskaterSTL. on 04 Nov 08, 18:23:07
Your claim is that he was better than Sinatra, and therefore remained at #3. Let's disprove using the converse. If he were worse than Sinatra, would he have been #1? Of course not. So there must be something else factoring into Sammy's inability to be at the top. That something wasn't personality, it wasn't the hustle. It was the color of his skin.

Pure genius. Thanks for sharing Sinatra2005!
