i wouldn't call them metal, they're punk, but they've certianly gone from a more raw and almost primal sort of hard punk sound to one that's more punk-pop sounding. still a great band in any case.

Oh yeah, that about did me in. What absolutely killed me was watching her sing, though. The problem with Against Me! is that they still wear all black and claim to be for the anarchist cause while being the puppets of the corporations they used to criticize. This is EXACTLY how movements get silenced; they buy the revolutionaries out. Against Me! doesn't suck just because they moved to a major label; Against Me! sucks because they sold out their beliefs for money and MTV coverage, as well as a more radio friendly sound. Thrash Unreal is a fantastic song alone, but this album sucks.

At the time though, I wouldn't have recognized any of the others if they'd walked right up to me!
