This is what it was all about..nothing compares to this.."This is how it should be today!" Not just a music festival but a way of life..people in harmony with the earth and each other! Peace!
By: IloveTriYann. on 22 Nov 08, 18:27:34
Incredibly awesome!!
By: horsesflu. on 21 Nov 08, 03:13:59
I assumed we were discussing the entire era, not just a concert in said-time.
By: tangledupinlivesthat. on 21 Nov 08, 03:06:54
moo, that was some good music double, even triple moo!
By: spareaxe. on 21 Nov 08, 02:59:46
It wasn't about your observations, besides you weren't there...it was about 3 days of Peace and Music, that's all.
By: bjbhappy. on 21 Nov 08, 01:46:18
IT WAS A DREAMY TIME---I AM SO GLAD I was right in the middle of it-----sigh :-)

Native's are still bitching, the environment is worse than ever, I can buy the same 'snappy threads' in a halloween costume store. The 60's + 70's are a sore spot because they illustrate that no matter how incredibly awesome something (or its people) were, it will always give way to time. Because those times were so great and stood so high, they fell the hardest, and now we're haunted by their broken ghosts. Great music, though.

horsesflu: this bunch in question also ended a war, drew attention to poverty in inner citys, stood up, and still does!, for native rights, and our suffering environment, had snappy threads! cool hair! wicked music!!! sensible philosophies concerning peace and social stability! oh yes, there was the dark side, but a few wayward bikers, and some careless acid heads, and Charlie and his family of wingnuts,! dont reflect on the entire generation!

Your generation's contributions are superficial at best. Thanks for the jeans, and everything, but also "thanks" for coffee house bikers, yippies, and the other nostalgic cancers that gnaw on our current culture. The 60's and 70's was all about self-love; which created the superficial 80's, and now, the apathetic 00's: because, in part, you guys gave up a really sweet thing. You're all no worse than any other era, but you certainly didn't change a single thing (for the better).
By: Aoidi. on 15 Nov 08, 22:04:19
Great music. Great era. Need facts? Are you worried about the draft? There are two wars going on now. Do you worry you will be sent home from school because you want to wear jeans. Yep, thank our generation. We did change things. Your turn!
By: CILDAD. on 15 Nov 08, 13:27:06
How long was the festival? How much would one have needed to take to last the duration?
By: AKfromUSA. on 15 Nov 08, 02:33:21
Cool and Video BTW!
By: dinamamma991. on 15 Nov 08, 01:36:58
People have been breaking the "mould" for as long as there have been people. Without breaking the "mould" progress would be non-existent, in all areas. The sense of rebellion, the search for the self, the quest for originality and freedom from that which has already been established isn't reserved to "generation X".
By: kozyrosie4. on 13 Nov 08, 04:44:16
You people will never realize what it was like unless you were there...like me...
By: yourslutmother. on 13 Nov 08, 00:00:20
That's definately an opinion. Look up the definition of FACT.
By: Pyrate3. on 12 Nov 08, 17:40:45
Born there, or conceived there?
By: logjammers. on 12 Nov 08, 13:35:29
"abundance" is stretching the truth a little.........no..alot. There is some good stuff being done today but not even close to what was produced by the last 2 generations. Not an opinion..a fact.
By: philleon2. on 12 Nov 08, 11:05:47
i was born there
By: samburger. on 12 Nov 08, 00:40:57
I'd like to see before & after pictures. I wasn't there, but I've heard that Woodstock totally demolished that land with litter. Still, would've loved to have been there to help them.
By: AKfromUSA. on 11 Nov 08, 03:51:54
A question for all you (I'm 31)...Was this the first generation to break the "mold"?
By: TheMaterialWorld. on 10 Nov 08, 19:42:21
That would be awesome. Only if CSN and others from the original Woodstock performed at it. The crappy music of today would be disgraceful at the 40th Anniversary of Woodstock.
By: clarantha. on 09 Nov 08, 16:22:49
proud to have been a member of the woodstock generation - X which will be rememberd in history as the greatest generation of all time.
By: UnnamedMoose. on 06 Nov 08, 16:59:12
propably not. How sad to say that, but I really think so. It's all gone now. Wish it wasn't.
By: blidderbla. on 05 Nov 08, 16:43:41
Can this be done today again? :D Id go
