acctually, the rider gets it worst I fell of 4 years ago, on a courses and my right knee popped out it's socket and did a 360 then popped back in. oh yeah my horse fell on top of me then stepped on me getting back up. The horse was fine of course

this video is good, it shows the truth about riding and how hard it is. I event, and yes, its quite dangerous, but if you think of the thousands and thousands of people that ride every single day, and only seven of them have died from eventing, then truthfully i dont think thats a terrible figure, i mean come on, crap happens and it probably was no ones fault. I love eventing so much, and i reckon my horse would KILL ME if we ever stopped, shes me in horse form ahah

my grandfather used to go to all my competition, he loved it, he got on a horse for the first time in his life at 65, and now he jumps and everything, he doesnt do cross country, but he does jump on a closed square( idont know the name in english) its never too late to start!!

Yeah, it really does. I used to do a lot of cross-country jumping. Not competitional, but the stables nearby had this HUGE cross-country with something like sixty jumps, and I'd use it a lot. But then I started falling :S And this sport really is extremely dangerous! In Norway horseback riding counts as one of the sports with the most deaths per year. But the first fall -- RESPECT at how the guy just gets up. :D

im sorry to hear about your friends horse. i know what falling can do. i have been faltened, rolled on,thrown into a wall, kicked,stood on, thrown through a fence riding young horses.i recently had an accident with my horse he spoked at a fence and i ended up kicked in the head.cant move my jaw or neck.fortunely nothing broken i was lucky!!

i'm sorry to hear about your friends horse and i agree, people do think horse ridng is easy, AND it is so not!!! i nearly broke my neck last year when i fell off my horse when he spooked at a jump and took off galloping and look at the guy who played SuperMan, his horse spooked a jump too and he did break his neck. So i dont know where people get that this is easy

This reminds me of when I was showing in Pebble Beach and we jumped up a big bank, right? My horse was very eager (she loves to jump) so she hopped right up. Of course, I assumed she would jump right off too. So I very gently leaned towards her ears in the take-off position. She saw the drop and went "WTF. No." And I tumbled over her head, pulling off the bridle and landing not only the distance from her to the ground, but off the bank as well. She then hopped off and trotted around the arena.

Alright. I will put up the other xc and both showjumping! It wont all be up for a while though! The team is where a number of riders on a team for their country compete. Then individual is where one horse and rider compete for their country by themselves.
