First of all these guys are AMAZING. Musically amazing and do i love those vocals! All i have to say is when i saw Dragonforce perform in Orlando they were darn near flawless. It depends on how drunk they get before the show (obviously not very profession, unless you are dethklok). I'm not picking which band is better, they are both powermetal yes, but they are different sounds still. I would love to see these guys live!!

Yama B is easily one of the greatest singers ever. You have to at least give him credit for being powerful, and bringing a unique voice to Galneryus. Plus... He's perfect live. And does just the right amount of melody improv.

Listen to Dragonforce's Young Guitar footage. It's actually pretty good. They CAN play, but for some reason they just can't pull it off live. (Some live performances are pretty good, though it's pretty much hit or miss.) Galneyrus still kicks the shit out of them, though. They're amazing live, I hope they go on tour in the states soon. Hopefully Yama will stay on long enough.

The above lineup is the classic Walker/Steer/Amott/Owen from the 'Necro...' and 'Heartwork' albums. Jeff & Ken started Blackstar (or Blackstar Rising) after Carcass dissolved, 'Barbed Wire Soul' was the album title. Ken suffered a brain hemorrhage in '99, was in a coma for 10 months. He's doing good though, and will tour with them whenever possible...Not sure if he'll be playing, but they made him a part of the reunion, which is awesome, since he wrote a lot of the stuff from the first 3 albums.

Yeh, my friend had the Lynch Screamin Demon, it was just too harsh. I turned him onto the Customs, and the Demon has been sitting in my tool box, for the last 15 years!!...haha!! But give the Customs a try, and you'll see how nice they sound. If you need distortion, it'd only be on solos , if even then.One can never go by the sound clips on sites. You have no idea of the guitar or amp they're using, as well, the mix in whatever system they recorded it with.

Thanks for the help. I have never personally used either of those pickups, but I think I will buy some soon, I've only heard the sound clips on Duncan's website. The PAF Pro's are pretty sterile without an overdrive/distortion pushing 'em. I know of course Lynch himself uses his signature Duncan pickup but I really didn't like that one. Way too much treble and not enough bass. Believe it or not I get some cool sounds out of the screamin demon in the neck on an SG I have. It's odd but cool!

I have played a selection of duncan and dimarzio pickups and I find dimarzio's pickups to be much more well rounded. I haven't found a single duncan pickup with that good midrange-heavy "aw" sound, akin to what you would get from a wah pedal. The only one I have found that really does that well is the dimarzio PAF Pro. A well-rounded, great sounding pickup that is very versatile. I can get a happening '80s metal tone with it. Check it out.
