Quadractor Mini Logging Tractor Skidder Quadtractor Vintage

This is a very unique tractor known as the Quadractor (see quadractor.com) They are 4x4 and have 4 wheel steering. They can drive over a stick of lumber, winch it up under the body and drag a 4,000 tree out. It has a 72:1 gear ratio, and 8hp Briggs motor. Made in Vermont sometime around 1979-1982. Only about 400 were produced.

Just got this 4 wheel drive outboard, a 45 hp Mud Buddy Hyper Drive. These motors are known for their capabilities in mud and shallow water ... we tried it out in some serious cold conditions on the Teton River in Idaho ... results: not too bad!

The boat is an alumacraft waterfowler 16. It does ok for my purposes but in shallow water its not a good choice and limits what the MB can do. I had the boat first so I went with it. I'd really love to get a gator trax or like boat but weight is also a concern and the GT's are heavy! Thanks for posting.

i run in klamath falls, or. but yea it did only do it w/ cold + freezing fog(until the motor warmed up enough to keep the metal warm. its too bad you are so far away because memorial weekend we are having mud fest west on the river, they said glen might come this year. there may be up to 30 boats out 'wheelin. should be fun. thanks

I have run mine in some very cold weather but have not had problems with the carb icing up. In fact Clint and Glen told me about the potential ... so far not an issue. Its not seen on the video, but Clint did send me the exhaust upgrade and I agree ... makes a big difference. Where do you run yours? Obviously in a cold climate ... just curious. have you had problems w yours iceing up the carb? mine did it just one day when it was 16 degrees and a heavy fog. also you should hit up clint for the new exhaust mount upgrade, I switched it on mine and it took out alot of vibration. oh yea props for banging on a brand new machine.

No this is a MB 45 and it does have a single carb. An upgrade could be in the future which would put it at a 60 hp. The boat is an Alumacraft waterfowler 16' mod V hull. Not the best choice for the mud buddy. Thanks

Ya-know, I haven't gotten the GPS out to check the mph but I know its getting robbed of a lot of power. We're at over 6200 feet. If I had to ballpark a number, I'd say 25 loaded with everything you mentioned. The boat is an Alumacraft waterfowler 16. Not my first choice but I had the boat before the motor. Its a modified V so not exactly a flat-bottom which causes some problems in really shallow water. Thanks - Tetonoutdoors

how fast will this run ya? we have a beavertail 35 vangaurd and it will push 3 grown guys and 3 bags of deeks at 30-40 a peice at 25 or so... i don't know about head and shoulders above the competion because they all use the same motors... all they build is the frame. what kind of boat??

Yeah it was in W. Jordan, Ut. That was a big part of why I went with them cause I knew I'd have them close for any maintenance. Plus Mud buddy just seems head/shoulders above the other guys. Sounds like you know a little bit about 'em?

The horses will drink the brackish water, a mix of fresh and salt water. I guess after 400 years of so they have adapted. Don't take your nice new vehicle on the beach yourself, I see soooo many bits of plastic trim lining the beach and at least 8 vehicles stuck on the beach at one time. With only one tow guy here called Larry prices can be VERY high to get a tow.

The horse are usually not actually on the beach itself but behind the dunes. During the summer they are pretty easy to find if you know where they hangout but in the off-season they are much harder to find as they tend to go back more towards the Sound. I highly suggest going with a professionally driven tour such as Wild Horse Adventure Tours, they have a money back guarantee to find the horses for you and really make it a lot of fun.

I was the first person to bring this board to Europe before the manufacturer stopped making them (idiot). I had a web-site set up with national and international TV and newspapers running articles. I could of sold 100's with the response I was getting. The board was designed from scratch and was certainly not a modified RC chassis. The specification was awesome but probably over-designed (4-wheel drive, 80cc Huqvarna power plant). This made the asking price way too much for the average rider.

personally im "old school". i have a 1971 JD 112 with a 37a blower and i replacement mower. it is still an awesome workhorse. original kohler k241 10 hp still lots of power, no smoke. you do have a nice tractor, though i like it alot. i wonder if it will stand the test of time like my 112 has.

Yea one thing about the new models that you zoomed in on is the new deck height adjustment, makes it alot easier to know what height you are cutting. one good thing I can say about the new models!!!

Another issue with the495... Going down steep hills... make sure you have the pozi on or your in for quite a ride... 455 is much easier to handle in that respect

Responding to everyones posts on how good the edge cutting system is... Two of my tractors ... the 455 diesel 2 wheel drive... and the 495 diesel 2 wheel drive. (455 does not have edge) The 455 cuts every bit as good at the 495, but the 495 even though it has very few hours on in comparison to the 455, the 495 breaks left right and center...
