Awesome trailer. Made me buy Akira for a second time !!! Lost the original. Trailers are such an art, so often a trailer is just so much better than the actual film ( not in this case but its still awesome ). Cant believe the animation on show is 20 years old. Akira is like the Godfather of animation movies. Dark, serious, and bloody. Instead of your typical sweet Disney movie with good guys and happy endings, we have an almost too dark and too graphic epic. Try watching Beauty and The Beast right before watching this. Their both classics but are WORLDS apart.

If I didn't read the manga, why would i say such things? Of course I read the manga! I only read the manga to understand a bit more of what was going on. But, the actual story itself, I believe the anime did a way better job telling us who was akira, what akira did and what impression he had left on the people. But, in the manga, seeing that he was alive and Tetsuo became his "second right-hand man", it was utter crap. At least Tetsuo was more psychotic in the Anime.

wtf dude have you even read the manga? the only reason the anime is different than the manga is because Otomo could'nt fit the whole complexity of the story in one film, so he had to make compromises, so the anime is just a compromised movie, though awesomely animated

Yeah, but that's a tricky situation. You're basically saying that you are against bad movies, which everyone is. The new Star Wars movies were written and directed by Lucas, what more could you hope for as far as respecting the original ideas? They turned out to be crap, which is what happens sometimes when you make a movie. So I welcome this remake to Akira and if it's shitty, then I won't see it, but if it's great, then... great!

i wasn't hating on all re-makes and sequals, just the ones that are churned out by film companies and have little or no respect to the originals. I love the original star wars movies and original alien movie. i actually think aliens and empire strikes back were far superior to there originals, and they happen to be 2 of my fave films. I have the same view as you do on sequals and remakes; only make them if your going to respect the originals and either add to them or improve on them.

This was around the time he was testing out snare sizes and shells for his official signature snare....he goes thru quite a lot of snares in this video...personally I don't like the way it sounds it sounds too tourqed out to me but the rest of the kit (Old Tour Custom kit Custom Akira Jimbo Model) sounds wonderful!

Okay drewstar, I bought a bottle of the Yamazaki 12 year a week ago and I love it! I was looking for the 18 year, but couldn't find it. The 12 yr is full of honey and apricot, a mild, smooth smokey finish with a bit of caramel. Really enjoyable and easy drink. The 12yr was $37. Today I found a single bottle of the 18yr at a local liquor store and I'm going back to buy it tomorrow. The price is $102. I'm pretty pumped about this new find.

Dude, you ROCK once again! I use to drink Hennessey and wish I could try Suntory! Thanks for letting me know about the different ages of Scotch. I think I may have to go with the high priced Scotch, but I am an equal opportunity drinker! I am more of a whiskey guy, but just to have a bottle of Scotch, the 12yr or 18yr, that would be the best.Thanks Again! :-)

You're welcome, man. I know you can get the Suntory Yamazaki 12yr and 18yr in the US. They also have a 25yr, a bunch of lower quality whiskeys and some beers. One the website you can search for local distributors. YouTube won't let you post websites, so I'll modify it for you. suntory com /yamazaki Hope you get some for Christmas :)

Suntory Yamazaki is a very nice Scotch. The 12yr is rated at 93 point and the 18yr at 97 points. The 18yr will run you about $100-150 a bottle depending on where you get it.
