i wish ignorant people would learn a damn thing or just shut the hell up. not many people know what it feels like to feel guilty about eating a slice of bread, how helpless an anorexic person seems. its not just about being skinny, its about the control you can gain from limiting food intake. imagine that after you eat, you feel you have let yourself down, youre stupid and useless. and mcdonalds?!?!?! not even healthy people should shovel that shit into their mouths, never mind ill people.

do not blame models. that is such a scapegoat. just because i'm thin doesn't mean i have an eating disorder or that i'm the reason ppl want to be thin. she is that thin because she has a control issue, she needs therapy, she needs to be in control of anything, and her weight is all she has full control of.

i kinda realize this, the REASON pple with anorexia think once they reach drasticlly underweight say they are "fat" is because the moment they say they are skinny, they might start eating normally, so that idea of being "fat" is like a lock to continue their habit..otherwise what wud keep them going?

dear natasha i have been watching this documentary as a reminder that i am not alone, that there is still hope. i understand what you mean by not recovering because iw ent through the therapy and all, i recovered semi but it will forever remain with me. but the fact is is, youre a strong woman. not girl, woman ad we still have hope even through the hardest of times. we must stay strong, and i am so proud of you.

I hope that at some point that you can turn a corner. I was in rhodes farm a few years before you and didn't get well when i left either.I spent five years after that in and out of units and was sectioned six times. It's been three years since i was last admitted and things are so much better, It's like something clicked in my head that i didn't want to be that way any more. I hope that one day you realise that you are worth so much more than this and that there is so much to live for.x

hello i am natasha from the documentary,i've joined youtube and seen all of your comments which are very sweet and it's nice to see so many people care...i never 'recovered' when i left rhodes farm and spent the following 2 years constantly in and out of units, nearly got sectioned and lost all the weight...at the moment i have been out of the last unit for 8 months now and am not really eating but they've said it's my choice now, i'm doing my gcse's though and enjoying school

They know all to well the battle the children face on a daily basis,and try to provide loving nurturing environment for them. Most of the children have the utmost respect for all of the staff at rhodes farm, and undertsand the reasons for their actions. You are only seeing a documentary on certain aspects of treatment, and if you researched fully into Rhodes than you will realise how wrong it is to critise.

According to the ur mass index ur 25.8 wich means that u r overweight, 25 would be normal, but as I can see u look a bit heavier than that, cause you lost weight becuase of not eating not by excercising, so ur percentage of fat must be high, no matter how much pounds u lose u will look heavier if u dont work out.

I'm still debating how bad anorexia is for males. Unless you are a complete ectomorph, the male body must hold onto a certain portion of muscle mass. I think what happens though is if you had lost your weight in a healthy way, 170 you would be lean with dense muscles and feel fit/thin enough. I am 5'8 as well and remember reading that 165 is the lowest weight I should be to still be healthy, so be careful.

WOW!. 140lbs... well that not very realistic. You need to eat a bit and get some exercise, nothing wrong with a little tone. You're probably losing a lot of muscle mass at the same time as fat, using weight as a measure of fat or not isn't helping you, muscle weight more in mass as fat. Its a vicious cycle because that muscle helps you burn fat. I have same problem you have its a pain in the ass, but you might be surprised how a walk around the area can brighten your mood. Even if it is Dallas.

Also, I buy the box dinners for my family. They run $3-$6 each and they're complete meals. You bake them and they have a lot of different kinds that are really delicious. The ones I get are made by Betty Crocker and Banquet (My favorite is Pizza Pasta), and they're usually found near the Shells n' Cheese at your local Wal-Mart. Hope this helps! Sorry so long! *Zamia*

I really don't think you need to lose anymore weight, but perhaps reproportion your weight according to your ideal body type. For instance, you are obviously not happy with your core... so try doing strictly core exercises to strengthen that area.

There is nothing humorous about individuals dying as a result of a life controlling illness. To make a parody of anorexia and have what appeared to be teachers supporting it, really makes me wonder what hope society has in preventing or reducing the morbidity and mortality of anorexia.

im sure your intentions were good however it is somewhat insensitive to tell someone suffering with anorexia that you eat so much and still manage to naturally stay skinny... keep the positivity and encouragement but possibly lose the self comparisons because it is probably more discoraging than encoraging to an anorexic individual.
