Wiiloz, I am sure in know your problem. I used to have it too. You need to extend your barring finger out further. Don't be afraid to extend it all the way past the other side of the neck. doing this not only places the fattest part of your finger on the strings, but as well creates a more solid vise grip by centering the pressure that your thumb is exerting to the dead middle of your barring finger, instead of the near end of it. Make sense? I hope that helps. It did me.

Someone who has been practicing them for months and months religiously probably wouldnt have your same frustrations. Granted, they would probably not be great at bar chords either. I have heard people say it took them 2 years for their muscles to physically adapt to strain of strength it takes to play bar chords. It just takes time and a lot of practice. Which is the eternal solution to every guitar frustration. peace WiiLoz

Sorry if you felt like i was attacking you. That certainly wasnt my intention. at the time you posted this, it was 3 days before my reply. And so I assumed that 3 days prior to my reply, you were trying to learn bar chords for the first time and got frustrated and came on youtube to vent about it because your complaint sounded like that of someone who probably never tried bar chords before and must have JUST started learning them.
