I would say the gold was more confiscated than sold. Confiscated to cover the @ the time maybe between 1 or 2 trillion dollar debt. A debt incurred by the 100 yr cycle of borrowing and paying interest on money the FED never gave you in the first place, you just gave them permission to print it.

The Federal Reserve isn't even Federal. It's owned by PRIVATE bankers. The actual gold that backs our dollar system has been sold to the Federal Reserve, then sold to other countries. So, this gold that our money is worth is gone, so the worth of the dollar goes down. We owe so much money from borrowing from other countries, they pretty much own us. If you borrow money from the bank to buy a house, and you fail to pay, the bank owns your house...same basic principle.

I think you are probably correct. Ron Paul is more of a free market thinker while Obama still backs this idiotic housing bailout nonsense. I did get a kick out of Sen. Bunning's comments a few days ago when he was speaking to Bernanke. I think he said something along the lines of: "when I read the report on the Fed actions, I thought I had woken up in France!" :-D

actually they do follow the rules most of the time with the exception of article 1 section 8 paragraph 5, which of course gives congress the power to coin money and regulate its value. This has been transferred to the banking cartel. BUt for the most part COngress does what the constitution gives it power to do. Lay taxes? YEp. Regulate trade? yep. paul is the most anti-american person on the planet..to him everything is wrong with this country..he thinks he's right on everything. voters have spoken in the primaries? and said we are wise to you and your constant tearing down of America..we are not getting rid of the institutions and social programs you want and we are not cutting and running from iraq. we are not letting druggies out of prison so they can get high, hop in a car, and run over our kids while they wait at the school bus stop

I give Berneke credit..he showed paul respect and tried not to laugh at him like the voters have been doing to paul in this years primaries..paul is old and on his way out and his ideas are 18th century.
