You know I have wondered that myself. After seeing the US version I was like what the hell. An amatuar could have done a better video then that. In addition to the groups you mentioned as well such as Heartsdales, Soulhead, Koda Kumi, Kim Jong Kook, Bamboo, X Japan etc. HeartsDales is one of the best Female R&B Hip-Hop Asian groups I have heard in some time but I don't think they are even together anymore. I does seem a bit odd though

welps..Korean like to blend all culture when it comes to pop..so Valenti is like a spanish word but then the song Valenti is for korean audiences not specifically for hispanic audiences..you have to know korean pop for a long time to understand...can't really explain it. for example: the word "Maria" is like a hispanic name but then if like american or Korean people sing a song call Maria..then it's different but it's spanish word but not sing to hispanics.

Mochamoo -"BoA4Lyfe" has some point, but I take Japanese classes where there are both Koreans and Chinese, and Koreans speaking Korean end up having an easier time on the verbal parts, because of the words sound alike in Japanese and Korean. Even our Japanese instructor has stressed that it's easier for Koreans to learn Japanese. The Chinese people that know how to read Chinese are better at the writing part, because of the similarity in writing. I think that the verbal is more important.

I think most of her learning would have come while in Japan. She spent her vacations there, plus the 6 months living in Japan (before entering middle school) during which she was allowed to speak ONLY in Japanese. I'm sure that helped her learn the language more than she was able to while in Korea.
