He is a created player and is now at about 93 overall :-) Display Video Comments | Hide Video Comments | Add Comment |

Marvelous video! :-) I remember this band really well from my days of working at a cabaret club in Sheffield (the Fiesta, which CG played quite often, if memory serves). They always went down a storm. Are (any of) the band still gigging?

Well deserved 5star rating for a truly great 70's song.Never knew Alan Leyland also made the equally great 'SKY HIGH'(by Jigsaw)What a talent. Wait until around 2010+ and these songs will be remembered as 1970's pop classics. Can't say the same about chart music from the 90's till the present though!

Love this song! I've known Alan Leyland for quite some years now and glad to say he has never ever changed, he's still the most lovely man ever!! Thanks for posting this x

My dad was Athur Roberts who died earlier this year and I think he knew your dad because he played the trumpet in his band. Please get your dad to re-release the song! My dad would have loved that and it is a great song.
By: rowdyclout. on 23 Dec 07, 20:53:12
Hi! I am Arthur Roberts' daughter. Very sadly my dad passed away on the 22nd May of this year. He used to tell us all about he had played the trumpet for Candlewick Green in their early days. He always spoke fondly about the boys in the band.

Well actually Jigsaw's 2 main leaders did write Who Do You Think You Are,and recorded it under the name of Jigsaw as well. They are Des Dyer, and Clive Scott. But they let Bo Donaldson And The Heywoods record it in the states on ABC Records and have a hit with the song, back in 1974. The Jigsaw recording of the song is on a Japanese Import CD,and is highly expensive when found.I believe there are a total of 30 songs on this CD too.

My mum told me about Candlewick Green, just watched the video and I think it is great, really funny, why can't we have a bit more clean fun?
By: Conejoconajo. on 19 Nov 07, 17:16:03
I agree with you, it is an incredibly emotional song & video, every time I watch it or listen to the music I cry, and I haven't been on the cider! ;-)
By: Conejoconajo. on 19 Nov 07, 17:13:47
I met someone who said they were with Candlewick Green in the 70's, he is from Liverpool and his name is Peter O'Connel and is now residing in the Yorkshire Dales.

can you tell me if the 'Jimmy' mentioned in 'More Info' was Jim Millard. We knew him in the 90's (he has sadly passed away). He used to say he was involved with the writing of this, but I think signed his right to royalties away.

Hi, Remember meeting arthur roberts a few years ago great guy he wrote the lyrics for [ who do you think you are ] Think there was someone else did the music arrangement anyone know who please , Lee Prestley
By: 55Motown. on 23 Sep 07, 02:28:39
One of the great UK productions of the 1970's. The arrangement, musicianship and vocals are fabulous. Where are the melodies like this on todays compositions
By: pritchah. on 29 Jul 07, 20:40:42
I can't explain, but maybe it's a combination of the song, the images and some of the comments below, but I find this an incredibly emotional video. Just me (or the cider) I guess!

I was driving from Leicester to London this afternoon listening to VRT Radio from Belgium (540kHz AM clear reception over here) and they played this. I vaguely remember it when I was a kid and so looked it up on You Tube. Great, fresh sounding song. Thanks.

The great piano intro always takes me straight back to hot '74 disco nights and Graham, the self satisfied & 'smug' lucky bloke who always monopolised the most charasmatic & achingly pretty blond in town- the one girl every hot blooded lad wanted to date....and guess who caught and married her in the end Graham? yeh....ME! Happy days indeed! Spin it one more time..........how's it go? de de, deh deh deh!!!!
