One of the stupidest mistakes to do on the internet is arguing something like music which is too broad and diverse. SO SHUT THE FUCK UP! no offense Megalobellamiam, but RATM is not really experimental creative only Tom Morello was in the band and is still is. A lot of underground and mainstream bands/artist around the world thought RATM lyrical approach was to make money, But you are right that britpop is very diverse genre and not every band tried to emulate the beetles.

RATM are talking about real facts of our society love it or not and their music was way ahead of its time and is still one of the most innovative and powerful ones . Of course, its clear that Rage is just a faux protest group designed to make money As for rhythm section, Tim Commerford is better, but Matt Cameron blows Brad Wilk into the water. Not to mention Chris's voice was a 100x times better when he was in Soundgarden. His lyrics were not that different in either band.
