Slash was asked to respond to Dave's comment and agreed, basically saying that technical facility isn't his forte. A google search of "Buckethead Dave Mustaine interview" and "Buckethead slash interview" will lead you directly to the quotes. They're completely different and great but Buckethead is light years ahead of Slash musically, even if your taste doesn't coincide with that fact

Soothsayer is my fav song. I love how Buckethead never plays a song the same way twice. It's disgusting how well he knows his way around a guitar.....almost everything is improv. how can you even say the soul in his music is not necessarily in the playing itself but the music he writes? this whole version of padmasana is pretty much improvised and completely different from the studio version.. it's kinda like he sneaks up behind you and just impales you (in a good way) with this magical, soothing emotion when he plays live.. because you can never really know what to expect when he plays live, and I mean that in the best way possible.. bucket for president
