F1 drivers can, of course admitting there is nobody else on the circuit. And of course the meteorolgical conditions have to be known. I knew someone in Toyota F1 staff who told me the drivers practice so much they are able to. That's why I don't like much F1, it's too linear. They know exactly where to break, what speed etc...

Fujiwara Bunta: Drift GOD. I love this series. This is how I feel driving "seriously" in mountains (I drive a FWD, and for grip, but it translates.). It's refreshing because it's not freaking F&F. Also, massive lol at Bunta casually getting out a smoke through that corner.

Even in tracks your always drift at a point or another. Most of the time so slightly people don't even notice it. Drifts aren't necessarly spectacular. Racing isn't about "drift/grip battle", it is about knowing when to use one or the other and at what dose according to the road material, condition, car/tyre/equipement limits etc... basically all the factors a pilot got to consider. Just my opinion.

drifting is somewhat fast through some corners. it depends where you initiate the drift. drifting is not fast at a track, but around a touge corner it is. look at the drift bible. KT demos the difference between show and speed drift. of course, this is initial d the 1st season. so they stress drifting alot.

And kids this was a lesson in car physics. Once in motion a vehicle will remain in motion until something acts on it. This is true when sideways. The steering wheel 90% of the time will point in the right direction when oversteering. You can control the slide with proper throttle control. And to think I think drifting is a waist of tires... I like grip.. but I also like speed, and drifting is not the fastest way around a track. It looks cool but is a waist.

Some cars drift more than others. For example, the FD is not a good car for drifting, for it's a grip car; the 86 on the other hand, is an excellent drifting car. However, grip cars are usually faster than drift cars, especially on courses like Irohazaka or Akagi.

Best car to start out in Initial D huh? Well that really boils down to preference. If you wanna be like everyone else, stick to FD, SE3P, GBD,AE86 and the EVO. Now if you want to really experience the Initial D game, pick any car you want....stick with it, get good with it. I had a chance to pick any car but I chose the S2000 clearly to run down any other car that goes against me. So far it's all good....
