This guy needs to clarify a few things. He's right, but this only applies if you want to burn fat. For endurance purposes, you might want to just do a regular warm up. It all depends.

lmao

Ur an idiot u just repeated what he said except in a dumb format
By: 7167607. on 22 Sep 08, 01:08:16
i dont agree with this.......... try 10mins on treadmil then abs and squats everytime you enter the gym..... after that do either back and chest or shoulders and arms..... then 40min swim after every workout.... you WILL gain lean muscle and burn fat..... do this 4 times a week
By: myungsupah. on 14 Sep 08, 02:30:31
actually per pound you lose. 60% is muscle, 40% is fat. why what he says works is because after you lift weights, your body is in an anabolic?( correct me if i'm wrong. it's either anabolic or catybolic) state so the body will retain more protein than fat so you will burn more fat rather than muscle. so it won't deplete or destroy muscles. it will skip over the protein and delve right into the fat
By: 280zDats. on 04 Aug 08, 13:35:47
Thank you, I was debating that today. Short google search turned up this.
By: Huba588. on 31 Jul 08, 06:53:15
What's even better is to do cardio before & after the workout. Doing it before will help keep your heart rate up and "loosen your body" during your workout phase. So, in theory, you'll lose more calories during your workout due to higher BPM.
By: BoNgWaTeRdEmOn. on 24 Jul 08, 23:22:43
you are forgetting that in your scenario this person you are talking about has fat on his/her body. your body will burn fat before it burns your muscle. unless you have a 2% body fat index you have nothing to worry about. steve is right.
By: jotunPIKK. on 20 Jul 08, 17:55:09
I wasnt very clear I guess. What i meant is that you shouldnt do cardio at all right after OR before. If you do it before, same happens ofc. It all depends on te intensity and how long youre doing it. If you plan on doing 20 min cardio and 20 min weights, sure you can both. Becase your storage will probably last long enough. But if you plan on 5-10 min workout, 30 min weights and then 1-2 hours of cardio. I dont understand how all that enegy can come from FAT.
By: PilferMusic. on 20 Jul 08, 15:55:22
following jotunPIKK's logic ...then if I do cardio first... and burn this immediate storage, then do weights without having said storage available I'm also destroying my muscles. Bottom line. Work out, if you are carrying some fat, create a caloric deficit; don't eat so much & work out more. Build muscle by creating resistance - lifting weights. How about 5 min on the treadmill... (warm up) do some weights for an hour then 30 min on the cardio machine? Then eat a couple of apples. Have Fun!
By: jotunPIKK. on 07 Jul 08, 11:21:25
By doing what is said in this video you will to my understanding destory your mucles. When your glycogen storage in your liver and in the muscles are empty, you need fast carbs IMMEDIATLY if you dont want your body to break down muscle cells and burn protein. And IF you eat, insulin will be released into your blood wich rules out any fat burning. So yeah this will burn more fat, but you will also loose muscle mass. Which takes away the point of being there in the first place:)
By: k1LL3rd3s4. on 26 Jun 08, 20:17:43
you can actually prove your theories by training in both cases, cardio right after will result in better gains, trust the words!
By: zodiactheory. on 25 Jun 08, 00:59:13
well really in my opinion theres is no fitness "expert"...like mentioned above every person is different therefore every should be different no matter if its some division athlete or the guy who works out at the park
By: DurtyA7. on 24 Jun 08, 03:30:58
you're sure not a fitness expert, and this guy is right, trust me, I train Division I athletes so I know my stuff, and this guy says the truth, lol easier to stretch possibly, maybe a 5 minute warmup would do, and lift weights? NO every try doing Squats with 90% of your 1 rep max after doing ANY sort of exercise
By: zodiactheory. on 19 Jun 08, 15:25:37
well every couple of years workout theories change....couple years ago it was the other way around....first do cardio then weight train because the cardio will warm-up the muscles in the body which makes it easier to strech and lift weights..now its this....im no fitness expert or anything but i think as long as your havin fun then do what works for you
By: Roji11. on 15 Jun 08, 19:57:17
so by workout, u mean strength training first and then, cardio?hmm...i'm going to try that right away :)
By: jessejamesh120. on 06 Jun 08, 13:05:23
this makes sence ... good man
By: steveshort4steven. on 05 Jun 08, 20:10:09
i've heard about this before but i didn't know why "in theory" it would wrk. thanks for the explanation it makes more sense now.
By: jtcruzzin. on 04 Jun 08, 04:31:58
Yeah alot people dont know this.... No news to me, but good you put it out. All physical stuff is theory, just like if you run on the tredmill everyday you will lose weight. Well I see the same FAT ASSES in the gym on tredmills, bikes, cardio classes and guess what they are still FAT!! Muscles burn fat, fat doesnt burn fat. Alot of people need to wake up their sleeping muscles to help burn fat...
By: ilovesilvia69. on 30 May 08, 18:47:40
if you're gonna do that just eat lots of slow digesting carbs and protein and you'll be good
By: srehmat02. on 30 May 08, 08:45:00
Yeah thats true, I guess you could stay in the fat burning zone though, to reduce the amount of glycogen being burned and maximize fat burning.
