Female lead guitarist, btw. I thought I'd mention that, neither here nor there, but there are so few of them who play at this level and in this style. Tiger Lily (the album from which this is from)has some of the most luscious lead guitar melodies ever. She is such a sensual player with a subtle yet, sublime way of playing that leaves you devastated by it's beauty.

Oh shit yeah sorry the intro to the intro isn't on the album, they should have kept it the same on the album, it's the only thing i dont like about among beggars, the lack of cool ending ruined my listening of the album for about a week!!!! Why they would mess with perfection is anyones guess but i posted on thier site and told them they owed me about 30 seconds ha ha ha :) Best band though they just get better and better. And the digi-pak artwork was so worth the extra few euro!!!

there is no way that Wynton has better technique, as far as classical playing is concerned. And Nakariakov's tone IMO is his main strength, absolutely perfect. Had Wynton specialised on classical playing, he may have reached Andre/Nakariakov level, but not as a Jazz/classic hybrid.

Interesting video. It shows he has a "frown" embochure rather than the usual classic slight "smile". There is more than usual facial muscle movement with register changes suggesting he will have less stamina than usual and explaining why the didn't go to the high F at the end of the piece.

actually, he raped wynton hard for two reasons: he isnt using some heavy ass trumpet, which a megatone mouthpiece the size of the whole lead pipe. also, wynton is a jazz player, so... wynton is better with is technique, is some places tone as well
