The whipping twin I use is Marlow #4 I believe (at work myself). I've also been tying a double constrictor lately. instead of wrapping around just the one time, you would wrap twice. Some people put one end in a vice and pull the other end with pliers. Nylon line alone, I have found, breaks to easy. Not sure about Kevlar line, I've never had any to try. If the problem your having is that the cord is not staying tight, put liquid dish soap on it, then pull it down.

Certainly. I have used wax whipping twine and also Spectra or Dyneema. Spectra and Dyneema are fairly slick line, waxed line will slide against itself. The cord used for the knot has to hold for pulling the knot down. Line that breaks easy won't get tight enough. Make sure when you release the pressure of pulling down the knot, it does not back off at all. If it does loosen a little, your cord is not sliding well enough for the constrictor part to tighten down.

Not really. Since the knot is tight and the constrictor portion is pulling down on that knot. The ball of melted nylon helps to hold it in as well. I have seen that some people tie a square knot over the constrictor before cutting. I need to re-shoot this video stating that and also showing the double constrictor.

O maior problema é a tal "seleção natural". O dono dessa cobra pode ser o presidente do IBAMA, mas a real é que a cobra não está em seu habitat e suas presas são "fabricadas". Se vc soltar essa cobra no meio do mato é óbvio que ela vai se fuder bem. Por outro lado, ignorando o fator "ilegalidade", fora "mal acostumar" a cobra, eu não vejo nenhum abuso ao animal. Aliás, abuso é darem verdura pra bichos carnívoros e carne para herbívoros. E acreditem, isso rola solto.

Cada um é livre para ter o animal que quiser para cuidar, ainda mais se tiver permissão de algum orgão ambiental para tal coisa. Se a questão é sobre natural ou não, eu condeno os rodeios por judiarem dos animais só por diversão. Pelo menos nesse vídeo não ocorre isso, portanto, ao meu ver, não vejo nenhum problema.... numa dessas, a cobra está está mais segura e bem melhor alimentada do que se estivesse em outro lugar....

You could also consider a Dumerils boa they get nice and big but seldom more then 6 feet. There are also dwarf strains of Dumerils that top out about 3 feet but they are hard to find. Then there are the various Pacific Ground Boas (aka Viper Boas) that only get 2-3 feet but keeping them healthy and on a feed can be a challenge

NO, the biggest thing they can eat is like a mediam, possibly large rat. Just make shure that when u feed it, that u feed it in a seperate container so the snake will know that it is not feeding time when u reach into its enclosure or have it out holding it. that way everyone and every thing (including dog) won't have to worry about being bitten. Trust me, the snake will no when its feeding time once you stick them in their feeding container.

Yeah ball pythons are great pets to have, I really adore mine. She has never shown any aggresive behavior toward anyone and I was able to get some people who hated snakes to like her. I would love to adopt a boa constrictor when ever i get the chance

13 ft is the record length of the boa constrictor, so its possible, but yeah, sand boas, rosy boas, and rubber boas also make a good pet snake for a 11 year old

Common Boas get like 8-11 feet man Maybe your thinking of something else. For someone who is 11 years old, the best type of Boa is a Kenyan Sand Boa, Rosy Boa or perhaps a dwarf species.

a good snake to get is the Ball python wich grow about 4 feet long sometimes 5. It hase been known for them to get 6 ft but it is rare. these are a great snake to have, i have one and i love her. boa constrictors have been known to reach leagths of up to 13 ft long, so they can become a little more expensive.

Boa constrictor constrictor is the scientific name of the snake. there are other boa constrictors but have a slight difference such as the boa constrictor imperiator. the imperiator and the second costrictor on the boa constrictor constrictor is the subspecies while the Boa constrictor is the species.

if handled often and regularly they will be as tame as a puppy. It's best to buy newborns and be persistant. Most my boas are so calm , one will even have a nap on me while I watch TV just for the heat

Dude. Ive just bought my first Boa. Looks almost identical in size and colour to your Zeus. In heinsight I wish i'd bought a baby first just from an experience point of view but im not giving him up now. One question though. hes not eaten yet after a month which im not too concerned about, however I am going to try to feed him in a different box. My problem is this; everyone says that you shouldnt handle these guys at all straight after a feed. So how the hell do I get him back in his tank?
