Contortion is probably one of the most beautiful forms of body performances to me, it's amazing what some people can do with themselves and some of the poses are so captivating. I myself love drawing people in contortion poses because of how serene it can look. I'm jealous of those that can do it!

I noticed that all the current contortionists are young. My guess is that their bodies take such a beating while doing contortion in their young days that they develop severe joint, bone, and muscle problems with age. Being a gymnast, I've had this happen first hand and I regret it very much since I'm only 25 and have severe bone and joint damage already!

No, he wasn't =]. Hehe, training does make you more flexible, but the process is maybe quicker if you were born "Hypermobile" though I doubt it has any massive effect. I can dislocate any of my limbs, they do it spontaniously, but according to many GP's it doesn't mean I have any kind of hypermobility, and is probably due to spine problems =s..
