Since there aren't any official videos for this song (or 'Prayer to God') on youtube and considering that they're from pretty rare albums, it's great that people get the opportunity to hear some of Shellac's work. I'm 72 and my wife is 66. That video was made in 1994 or 1995, so my wife would have been about 53 at that time. You're right about not seeing long dresses when you visited Utah. I wouldn't expect that you would see long dresses at Arches or Bryce, because most people, including my wife, would be wearing jeans while they camp. I live in the Salt Lake valley, so the trip to the mine was a day-trip not a camping trip, and my wife choose to wear to the mine the type of dress she grew up with.

What looks like a pioneer dress is just a dress from an earlier generation. Up until the 1950s women (at least in Utah and surrounding areas) always wore dresses when away from the home. In the 1960s I began seeing professional women wear pant suits. In the 1970s I began seeing women wear jeans outside the home. My wife, being of an earlier generation, likes to wear dresses when in public, although she does make quick trips to a store in jeans.

yeah , nice neat soldering there. i wipe flux around the joint once ive soldering it, but no you are best not to. IT MAKES A GD MESS AFTER. P.S. not as easy to solder when dripping with sweat in a loft, when balancing on roof joists you can't see because of insulation.

Apparently, Simple Green is a recommended flux remover according to its industrial products website. It only recommends for flux removal on electronic circut boards, followed by a repeated water rinse, nothing about sweating copper or claiming to be a flux substitute.

Never ever wipe the joint when the solder is still hot. wait till the solder cools and hardens to wipe the joint. Other wise the sightly tweek to the joint will cause it to leak. Also, Don't use flux to clean the fittings afterwards. Do you know what the purpose of wiping the joint is? It is to remove the extra flux so it won't corride. So why would you add more?

one thing that he forgot to mention is reeming the pipe. when you cute the copper there will be a lip when you stick your finger in the pipe. take a knife, or a reeming tool and run it around the inside of the pipe to remove the lip until it is smooth. IF YOU DON'T... the water will swirl in the pipe this swirl will eventually lead to deterioration and pinholes in your copper pipe. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO REEM YOUR PIPE. btw...i am a licensed journeyman plumber.

Actually it has more to do with how clean the pipe and fitting are then what kind of solder. If the pipe is clean and nice and shiny (new) it is good to clean it but not necessary. If the pipe is old and dirty it needs to be cleaned.

After u solder runs, if the heat was applied in the right manner, it will run & drip out of the bottom. If it was done properly when the first drop falls the solder joint is full, depending on where you applied the solder & how it runs (gravity). Meaning is it running down both sides of the pipe if it is a horizontal joint. If it is a vertical upsode down joint place you heat a bit higher & on the side away from you. Solder will go towards the heat when u get a drop fall from joint it is full.

Way too much use of flux. Flux is only needed before the heat and only as thin as possible to cover the area where the two surfaces will be soldered and a bit beyond. The less flux you use the cleaner joint you will make. Using flux after you already soldered is not necessary and a waste of flux, makes a mess, and if not properly cleaned afterward will promote corrosion of the pipe making it fail prematurelly. You don't need much flux because when it heats it will bubble and expand anyway.

it depends on the what kind of flux and solder wither or not you need to clean the pipe. If your using S-39 you don't have to clean the pipe but if you use c flux you do. if your using 5, 10, or 15% silver solder you don't.

They'd have to be insane to ever get to 125 in the first place. Whose PC runs that hot? It's ridiculous. If my CPU hit 70, I'd be disappointed. Too knock 50 degrees off of that, they'd need a refrigerator, not two ounces of copper. Gigabyte should know better than to say something that weird, and I'm surprised Asrock's criticism wasn't more straightforward.

I guess you had failed your class. Asrock needs less power compared to Asus boards are due to poor power management design, and 5% performance less means alot.. As for your cooler theory.. you scored a "F". Check those high performance coolers in the market, 99% have huge fins and are close to components.. So that heat disspiation is better.

For the others: Asrock goes for the Mid Performance Range as MSI goes. And leave the Highperformance Part for Asus. Asrock boards needs lesser Power then Asus boards. (Same Chipset) but don't go for the last 5% in Speed. So Asus and Asrock splittet their Marketshares. GA goes from midclass to highclass with around 5 Years back in tweaking experience as Asus, and now have some problems with the Heat. They go the Brute force not the smart way. Asrock is unfair as they don't go high performance.

I am Student of Computerscience. When you Look Closely you see the Stock Intel "Cyclone" type Coolers on both CPu's (The Characteristics can be seen on the Images). The Coolers don't like close Elements, wires to close about 30% less Air flow. When you look close again you see the coolers on the Board from GA. They are to close.. design failure. And this is reported on several sides that the Ga boards are rather hot with Intel Stock coolers. Design error, from GA.

you don't overclock? fool. i call asrock mobos POS's because they are a cheap subsidary of asus. an intel board at the same price will overclock much better. via northbridges are a horrible business decision. @ LPMa007 Can't you see the difference? It is a waterblock cooler on the GIGABYTE board vs a fan cooler on the ASROCK. That is the reason for the 120-170 temps on the components. A waterblock will cool the CPU area down, but it will not have any thermal effect on any of the other components, the very thing GIGABYTE is testing.

so what? You bought a board not meant for serious overtclocking and then you call it POS because it does not overclock as far as others. That is stupid. Nothing else. Get a grip of reality, or even better, get a life. I am at my fourth asrock board now. I don't overclock - and they are not only cheap - they work. Their bios is less buggy than some crap from more expensive vendors. Their boards are STABLE. And that is the most important thing about a mobo.

It's a common sense that CPU cooler fan's air-flow will effects the surrounding components temperature. In addition, in this video, their board was sat on top of a rack, which means there will be air-flow to dissipate the heat from the board. The basic rule for testing thermal is not allowing any air-flow effecting the heat source... Common Sense.. which I don't see their engineer is having..

Not a bad tip. It works some of the time, but not always. Another way, but more difficult, is to insert - if possible - into the line a one-quarter-inch-diameter soft copper pipe attached to a wet-dry vacuum. You make the small pipe go past where you're soldering and you suction the water so it can't get to where you are soldering. Highly effective when working with copper that is protruding above a slab.

I'm a 1st year HVAC student & just want to say that Hard soldering (aka Brazing) is not easy! We used both air/acet. & oxy/acet. & it's hard to know exactly when the pipe got hot enough (over 1,000 F) to let the hard solder melt into the joint. Of course you'd get better w/practice but my 1st joints sure were ugly :(

They are both good products. There's not enough space here to answer your questions fully. PEX piping can be installed much faster than copper. There are no hidden joints with PEX - only one at the manifold and one at the fixture. Copper can have many joints that you can't see. PEX is quieter when the water flows.

I prefer to move the torch and flame around touching both the fitting and the pipe. You need both to be above the melting point of the solder. I have seen that glue but not used it. Something inside of me says I would have to build a small network of pipe outdoors and test it for months before I would ever use it indoors while asleep or away. It just seems unnatural that it would work. Not saying it doesn't, just that I have to be convinced.

2 questions for you. 1) I read where you heat the fitting and not where you have joined the 2 pieces. Which is correct? 2) I notice at the home improvement store as I was walking down the aisle, there is a glue for copper pipe. The package said for all copper pipes when joining them together. No more soldering it stated, works 100% it stated. Its made by Locktite. Have you heard about this glue for joining copper pipes? And Merry Christmas!!

Shouldnt you only put flux on one side of the pipe because putting it on both will push the flux out into the pipe and cause blockages later down the line. So cant you just flux one side and give it a twist?

Well, I didn't go that route. I was completely self-taught using old technology: book, manuals, and visits to job sites after the workers had left. Today with the Internet the accumulated knowledge is so much easier to access. Have no fear, you will still have work. I tell people in MANY of my videos and columns that things are hard.
