It's actually not difficult to do. The entire audience at the front section where David throws the ball to is insiders. Then the second throw into another section - the entire section there is another set of insiders too. The trick is the next question that he asks the guy to "pick two person in random". He then picks the people who have been chosen before the show by David to be in the Polariod, also two insiders. "TS" is pre-determined too. Once that's all set the remaining is easy.

Well, this is quite ridiculous what you've said. Actually, this trick is devilishly simple but yet very difficult to figure out. David doesn't have any assistants required to move the strings as well as he doesn't need a special equipment. This trick is so much simple, that you can show it immediately with no special practice. BTW, note that his mouth was closed, he doesn't talk while the paper was flying. Devilishly simple.

That glass box does not do anything but fool you into thinking it's real. It's not "too smooth". Copperfield is incredibly talented at what he does - quite possibly the very best -, but exactly because his movements are slow and smooth the most plausible solution is to think of wires, cause he doesn't make and super-sharp turns and jerky movements that would be hard to do when in wires. It's possible it also could snap them if he wasn't too careful.

I am usually one who does not like it when people get mad at tricks being "fake", but, in this case, the show was specifically advertised with "David Copperfield will fly without strings." Stunt double on the right side. They projected an image on the white cloth while the guy inside got down into a secret compartment, under the carriage, shielded by mirrors. Then they reversed it on the other side with another image projection and David coming up from inside the 2nd carriage. It's pretty simple. Most idiots think this is real, or actually involves magic, and don't even try to think of logical ways of how it can be "faked", cause all these "tricks" are nothing but deception.

This a very nice trick although not hard to perform. I totally agree that DC is one of the best of all time and on a totally different planet than Criss Angel or David Baline. I am not impressed with Criss Angel's stunts at all and usually can figure out exactly what he does the vey first time I watch them. well.. everybody is entitled to their opinion but david copperfield has been around for over 20 years and he is part of popular culture now.. he does over 500 shows every year and makes over 50million dollars every year.. he is smoke and mirrors, but sometimes like in this trick he proves his dexterity. on the other hand criss angel pretty much only does camera tricks and uses lots of stooges.. which is hardly magical at all... blaine is a great street magician but no comparison to dc yet

hey the audience is not fake!i recently saw his show in vancouver and was convinced all the people he was picking were planted by his crew, till he picked me!!!! and he made me wiggle my finger and make a ball of tissue fly, then made it a tissue rose, then burnt it and made it a real rose which he gave me, all with me standing right there! an i could not figure it out!

Excatly what I ment :D The sheets were a tricky thing to develop, they are actually real. When they first practised this the "sheets" hit the test audiences head because it was too warm in the theatre. Not saying anything more ;D

its all about timing, deception and choreography, thats the art of 'magic'. First Copperfield falls instantly through a trap door (look at the black under the stage, when the camera pans) and a double girl gets quickly put in. Later at the switch she picks up the cloth (david gets quickly mounted through the trap door). She throws the cloth a bit up and in one motion he takes over and she falls though the trap door (he still standing with spread feet). beautifully executed ;)

This is one of my favorite illusions of David. Passion's Prison, The Fan, The Blade and Voyeur are my favorites. I know how this illusion is done but I still love the way he does it. The music, choreography, the actual aparatus, his dancer(s) - perfect. They were able to perform this with the help of The Pendragons who are credited at the end of this special. I wonder how David feels that the lady in this illusion and her sister were on the Masked Magician specials on FOX.

This is simple. But DC does it so fast that ...it looks like an illusion. Really amazing. Two look alike girls are there. When the girl closes DC, he simple hides behind.
