I listened to this interview for my second time. I thank my God that Michael is allowing us to enter his world and that he is willing to engage Rush in this way. My daughter has spina bifida and could/would, in her life time, benefit from stem cell research. Thank you Michael for making more people aware and stating the case so eloquently.

Of course the inspectors were called out prior to launching an attack on Saddam. DUH! However, did you ever notice the spy satellite photos that were released during the prior 10 years on Iraq? Funny how a week prior to the US attack, those photos showed that the mobile missle launching trucks moved from Iraq and appear to instead be found in Syria. BTW, Syria was a STRONG supporter of Saddam (and they're anti-USA). Maybe if one looks in Syria, we might find those WMDs that Saddam had.

The inpectors had to be called back out of Iraq before the invasion. I've watched former inpectors say this for a fact! And Saddam held them up in order to move his stuff around before they got there? What was he trying to hide? It's been years and we haven't found a damned thing! Maybe because of the poor planning for the invasion of Iraq allowed terrorists to get ahold of all of Saddam's weapons. Either way, the result was an embarassment to the US from a worldwide perspective.

Obviously you were never taught to read between the lines during current events, eh? Saddam did allow inspectors in, but ONLY to places that they had already been to before, and never were those UN inspectors allowed to go where THEY wanted to go, and surely not in the time frame that those UN inspectors had in mind. He would delay them, stall them, etc. until he moved whatever he wanted out of the way. Plus, that was only during the last 6 months prior to his ousting. He allowed no one b4.

You obviously are revising history then. Saddam NEVER capitulated, hence why those 10 back to back resolutions were the main reasons that the US invaded Iraq. As far as those sites go, I don't think that "Club Getmo" needs to be dismantled at all. Do those that run it need to be retaught what is and is not considered appropriate behavior? Absolutely. I remember Bush pushing that through, and then giving Saddam an ultimatum and list of things he had to do in order to remain president of Iraq. Saddam capitulated but we invaded and deposed him anyway. With that, Guantanamo Bay, Abu Gharib, Blackwater, and God knows how much other back-biting crap we did the moderate muslims came to one conclusion. We can't trust the US!

Congress didn't vote to declare war. They voted to expand the powers and tools of the president with regard to diplocy and for that diplomacy to possibly include use of the military. No President can declare war. Only Congress can. Funny, but a whole bunch of Democrats voted in favor of War for Iraq. Sen. Carl Levin(D) vote FOR the Iraq war.
