This is best version I've found on Web. I've sung the alto line of this in my choir & it's often the Communion motet at my Anglican church. Tempo is perfect for an anthem hailing Christ's Real Presence in the Sacrament. There's nothing so angelic as a boy treble.

You made a really good video, here! Per Wiki the carol is a Middle English hymm from the 15th century. Just a little bit of it was used in the 70's movie, The Wicker Man; a very cool, strange, horror movie with a lot of music. It had a religious theme of a Christian versus Pagans, but neither side comes off well. Lovely music.

I had a priest for 24 years that taught me some things I shall never forget and one of those is that the non catholics, sometimes, give the better interpretations to God's things. LoL I'm totally ad-libbing that second Ex Maria, cuz the Alti and Mezzi really don't mesh well on those notes, it sounds like someone dying. I think we did well in concert though, the judges seemed to like it. But us Alti felt like men singing some of those low notes.... 3 huzzahs to Francis Poulenc, who apparently was either tone deaf or had a sick sense of humor. The piece is relatively easy to study compared to Pater Noster(Latin for Our Father)which is killer. What's hard is trying to achieve the atmosphere of the composition and trying to do justice to it. My compliments to the choir by the way! They were excellent. Perhaps you can do them justice by putting their name next time. Thanks for posting this!!!

I should've known; it was late when I listened to it. The Cambridge Singers is a fine ensemble, but nothing beats Trinity, in my humble opinion. Either way, Poulenc is a genious - my favourite composer! Thanks for posting.

En cierto modo estoy de acuerdo contigo. Antes qué nada, decir qué me encanta este grupo y sus letras...pero en este caso, creo qué les perdió el intentar hacer un himno coreable para sus conciertos. Entre las víctimas del 11-s se encontraban, principalmente, trabajadores. Además ese antentado, como bien dice sonsdonorte, sirvió a EEUU para legitimar la invasión de dos paises (uno de ellos ni siquiera relacionado con este ataque.)
