I saw this show on May 2nd and REALLY loved it. I want to go see it again and again(hopefully I'll get to see it before they leave on Sunday). I'm going to be depressed after they leave. I'm jealous that you got to sit in the front row. Do you remember what character that person was playing (was he on the teeterboard, in the procession, etc.)? I'm also sad that Paul Bisson left- I love his voice. At least Kit Chatam is still there. LucyD03- what does your significant other do in Corteo?

well i don't think i'll ever get the chance to see corteo since the tour is only supposed to be in the us and europe... but i have watched the dvd like a million times (okay 10 times actually) and i love it when my grandpa died (a month ago) i watched this show since i thought it would talk something about death... i'll just say it made me feel good and it made me laugh as well i didnt know paul left from it, thats such a pitty :'( just like gagnon in alegria. so did sean lomax didnt he? ='(

I found out not long ago that Paul Bisson left Corteo. I honestly started crying when I found that out. The singer in his place sang for Quidam and was their drummer. So I'm going to trust that is a very good singer, I loved the Quidam musicians. But none rival Paul!

Haha, yeah I agree free tickets are the best. I alos got to go backstage, and I just have to say it is sooo different from Varekai backstage. Varekai had like game tables and more leisure activities where as Corteo was a lot more rehersal driven...if that makes sense. My friend is in Tournik, so I have to say this is my favorite act, lol- my Brazilian boy is a cutie :)

I really like this act, especially the music (I know how you feel on the rolling globe, i used to do the diabolo on it) but if you watch on 50 seconds, he almost dropped the ladder :0 when i saw that i got so freaked out. (I showed this act to my friend and she said that Paul Bisson [the singer] sounds like he has a bad case of the hiccups. i had to hit her for that, i love Paul!)

The ladder works much the same as globe. As long as there is directional movement, however small, it is incredibly easy to balance. Try standing still, though, and you'll have some nasty bruises the next morning. Trust me, I know. ;-)

Sort of. Some shows have rotations for physical reasons so an artist doesn't have to stress their bodies in a particularly difficult act night after night, some days another act will go in it's place. or if an artist is out due to vacation, illness, or injuries a back up act might be put in. In this case the act is no longer in the show. The artist who performs the act left and a duo straps act replaced it.

Thank you so much for uploading this! It's the best quality one by far I've seen around here. I wish that they had kept this act and this girl to continue in other performances with the aerial straps, because in all honesty, she is a masterful genius. The athleticism this woman displays is incredible! That dual aerial straps performance with the two men doesn't hold a candle to this. And the music is quite interesting as well.
