I have to say those are my dream cars since I was a little kid. (34 now) I even had the 6 foot long poster in my bedroom (the white one in the grass) I have adapted to something more my budget and am currently building a widebody scirocco. to bugatti184 - actually the first production Countach had slim bodyshell fitted with the 4000cc engine as the 5000 440hp had blew up(overheating,one of the main problems on Countach by then) Then,the 4000cc engined the wide bodyshell (wheelarches,front spoiler,back flap) and on this same body they eventually inserted the 4700cc engine (called 5000/S)which has been rated as poor being detuned to fulfil emission restrictions worldwide required. I suppose for me is the advantage of owning an original countach, so I could weigh up the pros and cons. And knowing the problems, I was able to stem away from them with my replica. Apart from getting the car road worthy, and extra goodies inside, my car has been very cheap to maintain. I love the groaty growl of the 350, and the lumpy cams. But yes, if I was to build another I would seriously consider the BMWV12, or the Lexus V8 which can be made to sound like a lamo.

This car looks brand new, but is 10 years old. I am happy with the engine, it may sound lumpy at low revs, but if you push it, it can fly. If I was going to get another one made in today's specs, I would go for a Lexus V8. They have an amazing sound when they are treated to some fancy work. But for a ten year old car, my beast suits me just fine

Tilton clutches are great for racing. They grip and you fly. Trouble is they are very awkard to use in traffic situations. Or even hill starts. In stopped traffic you basically count to 6 before you start off or you'll fly into the car in front. So I made the decision to get the clutch replaced so I could drive the car when and where I wanted. Some drivers of lambos get a thrill out of people oogling over their car and staring.I get my kicks in driving the beast and blasting down the motorway.

There was a lot of work done to the engine as it used to do a lot of racing. Putting out over 500 hp. Trouble was that it needed a tilton clutch system. Which is fine for racing, but no good in normal driving. The clutch is either in or out on a tilton system.And very heavy on the foot. So I had to have it detuned twice to match a new clutch system and make it drivable. Don't be fooled though this beast can still take up and go. It has never overheated, and comfortably cruises on 200kph

No bud I haven't. It's a bit of a hke from New Zealand. That's right, if you can't get th body look to wheels it just looks terrible. And so many replicas miss the mark on this point. It of course ads to stability of the car round corners. You put your foot down in my car and it just goes. I have had my car for ten years, and the finish of it is beautiful.Some recent cars using fiero chasis look just horrible.If you are going to spend money on a car, make sure its a good end product.

Looks nice, sounds great! Have you been to Carlisle? Went there two years ago and saw a few that were parked outside and were driven there from Pennsylvania and New Jersey/New York area. One guy was named Jerry Tully I believe and I have always wanted to talk to those guys their cars were awesome. some countach bodies do not look good, either too small or just weird looking. the body cannot overwhelm the wheels and tires or it looks stupid.

Honestly I went through the process of looking at a V12. The overall cost and maintenance was huge. Most of the guys I know are now using Lexus V8's instead of chevs. They are better suited and can be easily turboed or supercharged. We have a guy who made a Ferrari F40 replica with a twin turboed Toyota V8, it clocked over 200 mph. Shit can that move. We don't use stretched Fiero chasis on any of the cars. They have a monocoque chasis designed around the powerplant. Cheers for the compliment

The Countach is still the King. It truly is the last true Lamborghini. Lamborghinis'today are too tame and not too outrageous in design. After 30+ years, it's still an amazing supercar. Sure, alot of cars today have better performance, but the great impact that the Countach had on the automotive industry and society in the 70s and 80s puts it in a class of its own. I still want to buy one. My favorite color is black.

i think it sounds awesome. i also think the countach is the best looking lamborghini out there. my dad had one years ago in black, i remember riding to school in it. it wasnt particularly fast and was broken most of the time, but when it ran that thing was SWEET.

Lamborghini Countach was first showed as a project in 1971. In 1973 some working prototypes were tested. In 1974 production started for the LP400 model. It had clean lines,no tasteless wheel arches and that wing that was for looks only and didn't contribute in any way to downforce. The 1974 LP400 had a 375hp 4,0litre V12 and was more aerodynamic than the later ones where the wheel arches increased drag.

and all that control stuff is pretty much bullshit, because there are 2 types of petrolheads. first type loves and have passion for cars and nothing will stop them from buying such car if they have money obviously. second type consists of some fat rich fucks who buy such cars just to impress their girlfriends and can't drive them for shit. it's a shame that sometimes the best cars a driven by complete clots. btw post some vids when you'll finally get your countach.
