A torpedo takes too long to reach the desired target, would give the enemy ship time to retaliate before the torpedo reached them or might even miss it's target if countermeasures are used effectively.

FYI, this is exactly what a ship would look like when hit by a Mk48 torpedo, that is if you are lucky. If this ship had a full load of fuel and weapons the explosion would have been even greater. As another poster stated, modern submarine launched torpedoes are designed to "break the back" of the enemy ship causing greater structural damage than just blowing a hole in the side. Granted the hole would be quite large but the ship could feasibly still float and/or sail home and be repaired.

I have to disagree. I've seen them many times, as recent as last night and they always have some of the best audio quality of any live performers. You can hear the words he's saying and the syllables. He has the same enthusiasm and sound, granted he doesn't push some of the higher notes, it makes sense because playing a 2+ hour set you don't want to strain. He maintains the proper feel of the song. Maybe your venues/seats just are horrible? ;)

I built this lego star destroyer nearly 2 years ago. Whilst building it i took a photo after every piece on my digital camera and this is the end result. It took about 2 months to do and alas is now in pieces as I moved house, so I may have to do another one, with less shoddy camera work.
