Ahh, agreed. I've been listening to Beck since I was, like, two years old. You know, I often try to come up with lyrical interpretations of his songs, but I'm simply not that creative! His songs are just too awesomey weird. And I'm rather saddened that hardly anyone's commented on any Beck songs- he rocks my freaking WORLD. Haha. Oh well. He has originality like you wouldn't believe.

Whomever said this music was garbage was harsh. This album demonstrated Beck's intelligence. he demonstrated a rare ability on this album. He acted as a DJ turned songwriter and that's not garbage. It's complete creativity and a way of looking at music that was duplicated years after the fact. I guess people don't understand the album?

You know, I can see your point. It's just that Odelay was a CD of songs based upon samples from other artists and as far as my memory goes he credited everybody. By the way, some of the drums from this song come from Pretty Purdies Soul Drums. I don't think Beck happened upon these riffs, he knew they existed and was very familiar with the music. Everybody has their favourites and will return to them for inspiration. He used some really classical samples on that particular album.

Sure it's a big deal and it is not arguing who did it 1st either. Sure, if an artist uses a "riff" and makes it their own within their composition..kudos to them. The question was where did it come from? It is important in the fact that the "riff" can open up folks to discoveries of other artists as a result. It would be cool, at least for me, to know how Beck happened upon that "riff".

There will always be a riff, etc., that reminds us of something else. I just went through this on another thread and we were able to narrow it down to one artist. It doesn't really matter. If a new artist does something new with material it belongs to them. And owning the CD, I note that Beck was particularly careful in crediting whomever he could. Just for an example, think of the blues. Who wons that ryhtym? Yet riffs, etc., are argued about. Good for you for noticing, but it's not a big deal.

Yah I agree both are excellent players... There were basically only 2 things in my opinion really weak about the band... The fact that Glenn's lyrics are like Alice Cooper and can come off as campy... And his ability to write for the bass.. Which is probably the reason he was so confident in Jerry Only in the Misfits... And more then likely Errie Von raked over massively Glenns original product.

I do believe in fossils of course. I have one sitting on my shelf. However, we have no way to accurately determine an age. It is true that the Supreme Court ruled that the Theory is a legitimate standpoint, BUT, they also made note of the recent findings of the effects that oxidation has on carbon based fossils. It exponentially increases their apparent Half-Life, making it nearly impossible to determine exact age.

I know what you mean. It went downhill ever since they killed off Jonathan Kent. I still watch the show only because they always seem to do the most interesting shows at the very end of the season. The first half is always boring. The songs they use on the show are still pretty good.

dante's demon form depends on who is designing the monsters for the game. each game had a different designer so clearly they wont look the same. i think dmc1 had the coolest looking demon form. dmc3's sucks ass (really, it looks like a cheap plastic costume) and dmc4's isn't special either. i think it's trying to reflect the "gay cowboy" outfit that dante is wearing in that game.

Im now playing DMC4, which is awesome by the way, but then again, they´ve changed Dante´s devil look, so it makes me wonder, now that I´ve played all DMC´s, what is the true shape of Dante´s demon? And Dante´s age, at first I thought he was quite old, and remain young because of beeing a demon, but as you see en DMC3 when he meets with Lady, they both look young, and in DMC4 they´ve grown, so maybe Dante is not that old...so?
