Adventures Of Superman "The Mind Machine" Posted by: ABQShutterSpeed1
Video duration: 600 seconds Global video hits: 10790 George Reeves and Phyllis Coates are featured in this 1951 episode. There are a few scenes that include Superman lifting off the ground and into the air. After a flying rig accident, while filming during the first season, Reeves refused to be flown on wires and thus ending the rather startling effect created for early television. Definitely. I've always related more to Superman for precisely that reason. I like both characters equally, though.
By: Wolvenfire86. on 25 Nov 08, 01:55:38
I agree man. Bruce Wayne died in that alley with his parents. I think Bruce Wayne (his alter ego) is what Batman wishes he could be, without responisbilities. And even though Grasshopper here gave a great speech, I thin Superman is like Clark Kent because he evnies us. Think about it: everything that is easy for us (having friends, making mistakes, being normal) is nearly inpossible for the Man of Steel.

this is a brilliant speech about superheroes
By: Cotygeek. on 12 Nov 08, 01:27:20
Yeah, but from a psychological standpoint, Bruce rarely leaves the batman mindset, that it's deeper than costume for him. For all intents and purposes Bruce Wayne died at 8 years old with his parents.

He is talkin about Superman from when it came out in 1938 to the first Crisis
By: Lol8922. on 01 Nov 08, 00:44:49

Wow, I was trying to remember where I heard this Superman/Kent theory and could not figure it out. Thank goodness for wikipedia and youtube...lol - I found this is seconds! What a wonderful theory!
By: kissinbooth. on 14 Oct 08, 13:59:25
Does anyone have the transcript?
By: dragonfitter. on 13 Oct 08, 11:39:37
his powers were known while he was growing up but the kents told him not to use them untill he was mature enough as demonstated in the football game scene in the first film were he could use his powers to be a gret player but dosent
By: jordanelliot88. on 12 Oct 08, 17:21:03
too true, when superman wakes up all he needs is his cape and he's superman. bruce wayne wakes up and he needs to put on the cape and cowl and get his little gadgets to become batman. peter parker needs to put on his mask and costume to become spider-man.
By: Rahxephon63. on 06 Oct 08, 22:50:05
Absolutely phenomenal speech regarding superheroes.

By: lonelysavior2288. on 30 Sep 08, 00:20:12
whats the name of bill's drink ???
By: willfucker. on 29 Sep 08, 01:52:27
"Now if you don't settle down, I'm gonna have to put one in your kneecap. And I hear tell that's a very painful place to get shot in." I love the way Bill treats Beatrix like a child.
By: Bestial1985. on 28 Sep 08, 14:48:17
This is either wrong wrong wrong, or just outdated. Pre 1985 Superman - Superman was the real identity, post 1985 - Clark Kent is the real identity. Clarks powers werent fully realized until he was fully grown and didnt know he was an alien growing up, therefore he couldnt be Superman. Batman is also wrong, he doesnt wake up as Bruce, he wakes up as Batman and to him "Bruce Wayne" is nothing more than a facade he uses at parties and social events
By: KarenMCRmy. on 19 Sep 08, 21:44:40
Amen to that.
By: jerryfos785. on 19 Sep 08, 12:55:30

I love this speech and have recommended it to my students as we discuss perceptions.
By: putanginanshit. on 21 Aug 08, 09:54:57
My only question regarding this scene is whats that drink Bill is helping himself to? Whiskey, brandy, rum? Anyone know? It looks like it might be high end, expensive and a rare find. I want some!
By: CricketWocky. on 28 Jul 08, 05:06:03
This is one of the reasons people actually hate superman. Kind of neat that this is actually a factor in why someone likes him.
By: soulfulbohemian. on 21 Jul 08, 21:13:12
if that's the case, then his brother was his ho too.
