Actually, it depends on whether the body of the deceased was, properly, prepared. They, also, will MOOOAAAANNNN on occasion. It comes from gasses escaping from the remains; but, normally, the anus is "stopped up" with cotton in order to prevent them from farting. Of course, it, also, depends upon whether or not an autopsy as been performed, already, which will, usually, obliterate any such reactions from gas escaping the anus or Oxygen escaping through the voice box causing them to moan.

The bastard file with a wooden handle is a common tool available from luthier supply houses--it can also be easily made. I use sandpaper over the file because I can work in either direction. Whereas files become dull and can slip over the frets, new sandpaper always has the same amount of aggressive bite which allows me to have consistent control. You could also make a sanding tool from other material which are flat. In any case the important thing is to check your work with a straight edge

My YouTube video is a brief overview of how I dress frets on nylon string guitars which do not have a radius. Dan Erlewine has 3 DVDs which show how to refret steel string guitars--they are available from Stewart MacDonald. Unless you want to spend time learning to professionally refret guitars, it will be much cheaper for you to have an experienced luthier refret your guitar. In any case, before you refret the Les Paul you should practice on a number of guitars of lesser value.

Thanks for clearing that up. I am about to take on a complete refret on my les paul so looking for some good tutorials. Only thing which is holding me back at the moment is the price of the diamond fret files at stewmac! $80! In terms of fret levelling how do you ensure you maintain the radius of the fretboard on the top of the frets. I am unsure whether to buy a complete flat levelling file, or use a radius block with sandpaper for fret levelling. Thanks for your help!

In order to do accurate work you must continually check and recheck the levelness of the frets with either the 2" or 3" straight edge. While the special diamond fret files are used to round the crown of the frets if you use them too aggressively you can take some height off of the fret. As you are aware Youtube videos have time limitations--in a longer video I would emphasize the importance of rechecking your work from start to finish. Whenever you plane or file you must check your work.

If you level all the frets with your bastard file +120grit paper, but then afterwards sand each fret individually with 320grit paper, how can you be sure you have maintained the levelness of all the frets. I was under the impression that once the frets were levelled, you just want to round them into shape rather than filing away any more height off them?

Or towards the edge of the frets, allowing me to do awkward bends on the 2nd and 5th strings, how ever these are only half bends. But I hope I have explained the differences between rounded vs. beveled edges. On some guitars it preference and others it helps the prevent strings from sliding off the frets.. Nice to meet some humble Guitar Repairers and or Workers, that do not have an attitude or an ego about themselves. Just did not want you to think I was trying to tell you your job.....

The rounding over of the frets is said to keep strings from sliding off the edge off the frets. Simply it adds a little more fret, on some guitars I have played around with the width of the fretboard or how the way strings are placed. There leaves very little room for a string sliding off a beveled fret edge. On others, the strings are a over an 1/8" inch from the edge of the frets. The way I play (knowing this) I can round over the fret edges and bend the 1st and 6th string outwards.

Thanks again. I am not sensitive about fair comments such as yours because I realize that there are always better ways to do things. You should try both ways (bevelling and rounding over) and see what works for you. I think that they amount to the same thing--a fret which is smooth at the edge of the fingerboard. I think the more critical aspects of my technique is that I reduce the corners of the fret with one file and then I round the bevelled edge with another.

It is just something I always ask other guitar workers, to see what there opinion is. It seems the ones I ask do not use this kind of process. I will try and send video on this process of dressing frets. And again awesome video it shows how this work is done can be a great thing for guitarist to learn from give them a sample of finishing work..

Thanks for your comments. There are various techniques for dressing frets. What I have shown is the way I currently work on frets for nylon string guitars. I do not know if what you are suggesting is an improvement or not over the way I refine the frets on classical and flamenco guitar. Perhaps someone else could make a video so we could see the benefit of the technique you mention.

I have come across different books and Guitar Repairers that say not to bevel the edges of frets, but to leave them and slightly round them over. It is suggested not trim them by cutting the fret wire from crown to tang, but from the side to side. Was just wondering what Fernandez Music's opinion would be on this??? Cool video, better then looking at pictures in a book on this process. I bought several cheap guitars to learn how to re fret, level, ect... Not an easy thing to do .

when i did makeup on my grandmother after she had passed, we did her makeup while she was on a table. this was the day of the viewing. she was not yet in her casket. I think we did afew minor touchups the next day when she was in her casket. but we also had to do her hair so this may be why she was on a table, so we could get all angles of her face and fix her up easier. the people in this video went very quick. didnt seem to give much care.

i agree. my grandmother suffered with alzheimers for over a decade. before her death she was down to 67 pounds just skin and bone. me and my aunt picked out her clothes and actually did her hair and makeup for her funeral. it was an interesting thing to do. but i learned afew things they do to make the people look healthier. they injected some kind of jelly into her temples and cheeks to make her look healthier.

my grandpa was a very cruel man to his wife when he was drunk always beating her. After they lost 2 children had a few more she broke up with him found aguy who loved her and then died at 44. When her ex died. They put him in a gown at his visitation and he looked so fragile and delicate like a baby because he was small. Well considering a family might pay anywhere from a few hundred to several thousand dollars for a casket. I'd feel they would be extremely upset if they see a bunch of make up and powder stains on the casket, and they didn't take the time to finish the cosmetics prior to laying him in the casket. There's not that many people that's going to dig back up there dead relatives just to check and make sure the casket is ok and they look good.

He's a long line of right-libertarians who've tkaen over the party and don't really care for social libertarians as much. Ron Paul was the 1988 candidate, and Barr is the 08 one. Look at the LP's platform nowadays. It's filled to the brim with laissez-faire economic bullshit but little about giving our freedoms back. Rather unimaginative recipe imo. Heat the pineapple, tomatoes and garlic in a pan, till soft. Throw in a little balsamic and let it and the tomato sauce reduce a bit. Pour over the salad, meat and other veggies of your choosing for a warm dressing. Add a sliced chili pepper into the pan for some heat if you want, along with some snow peas and/or bean sprouts tossed about the salad for a bit of Thai flair.
