Upon listening closely to some Zep tunes as well as a couple Bonham solos, I find he did them 2 different ways at times. Sometimes done with just a single stroke to drum(snare or toms) then a double hit to bass then progressively working that fast around the kit, or at times double hit to snare or tom and single hit to bass and working that fast around kit. Triplet either way, but gives a bit different sound. In any case, Randy is very good at this technique. Nice vid.

There used to be a group of students that were in a Taiko group at my school. Since they've graduated and the group has moved to a different state, I've noticed a decrease in attendance at the school's annual Heritage Festival (where they played). Very awesome. I remember how the ground rumbled and you could hear and feel your heart pounding through your ribcage. Good form, great music. Taiko FTW!

I use this tool a lot because i work with a wide pallat of styles. I do a lot of funky groove type things, but lately, i need a lot of speed because i am now in a deathcore/death metal band and i've been needing to train speed a lot with metronomes at speeds from 260 bpm from 280, and this really helps....

Randy... If you make a sequel, please mention this... There is an audio recording program called audacity, which by coincidence is freeware. With it, you can make click tracks at any tempo, up to 300 bpm. I always tell this to people who ask me how to work on timing, because 1. its free, no need to buy a metronome. 2. you can export the click tracks onto an mp3 file.... Look that up dude.. Its a really helpful tool..

Hey wats up RVP. I notice you have a electronic drum set now, but hey i was wondering, do you recommend electronic drums for beginners? See the thing is, i have a drum set at home...basic setup with 2 crashes + ride cymbal, but the problem is i always notice that the drums on Youtube sound way better than mine do at home. Im only guessing, but i would say that i need to tune my drums but i dont know how to do that. Thats why an electronic i thought would be cool, do you suggest buying one?

That's how you count 16 notes verbally because they go by so fast. This way you know which note to hit the beat on & which ones not to. Count out 1abd, etc while clapping each number. Then clap out only the number & the d for example. Hope this helps.

I recommend the Mapex Pro M. I have one and a Saturn kit too. Outstanding drums and the Pro M kit sounds just about the same as the Yamaha Kit Van plays. Sweet drums. Keep doing these freebie videos, Van;) The world is a better place cuz ppl like you give to it when you can.
