Yeah, they all have their qualities, I even watched all of enterprise, although it was my least favorite I still enjoyed it somewhat. They just deviated from the other series too much.

same here. Thought the original series was very corny. TNG was very good but then i watched ds9 and realised that tng has a very simple formula thats the same every time you watch it - find the bad guy, sort the problem out, starfleet wins again. ds9 has a lot more people die, which is always nice.

dont give up on ds9. it gets good after the first 2 series. when you have finally watched them all hopefully you'll be impressed. Theres so much going on later , the dominion, the changlings and odo, the jem hadar, the bajorans, vedek winn, the breen, romulans, klingons -all these have MAJOR story archs that revolve around them

i have watched Voyager and Enterprise, i liked them both very much, i don't know why lot's of people don't like Enterprise..., they were going to the unknown, a little like the crew in Voyager, although they were trained for that, and the captain had to make tough decisions... anyway now i am wathching Deep Space Nine, i have finished the first 2 seasons and i don't find it wery interesting, except the last episodes... but i see that lots of people like it so i will watch it all :P

Space is showing DS9, I am really digging it! I think its the best of all Star Trek series... You gotta love: Jadzia (HOT), the relationship between Odo and Quark, Sisko, Major Nira etc and the atmosphere is so awesome! DS9 for life

Still, it looks thrilling enough for me. There are many ways the director can select his viewing points, sequence of scenes and so on to make the battle thrilling to audiences while still keep realistic separation between ships. In short, they can make a batter, more realistic battle scene than this.

TOO much re-used footage for this battle, which was quite dissapointing seeing as how it was the closer. Plus we didnt see enough of the Romulans at ALL here.

And if I remember correctly in HW2 a ship can't shoot through a another and hit the one behind it. I don't remember for sure since I haven't played the game for ages. Also in this series Nukes wouldn't do much seen as anti-matter, on the show and theorized in real life, is supposed to be way more powerful. I may seem like a nerd for this response but hey, it's still true.

You also need to realize that the smaller ships can't take too much punishment so the bigger ones with the power output to keep their shields up through the heavy hitting move in front, and the smaller ones maneuver around them to get their shots in. It's a sound strategy when dealing with this technology. I used it all the time in Battlefield FPS', hell they also used it in real wars now, you use tanks to cover infantry and the infantry are used as ground security for the tank.

Space is huge .... Use it !!! It's rather rediculous to see so many giant spaceships in such a confined space. Put fighters and light crafts up front to eliminate enemy's fighters and bombers. Then you back them up by larger vessels with long-range weapons to take out remaining capital ships from a distance. Look at how space battles in games like Homeworld 2 are like. That's more realistic in my wiew. Here, I can just put some nukes in this vid and it'll take out half the fleet. LOL

I always hated in star trek tng how they seemed to take forever firing shots...fire phasers, report damage, target again, fire, repeat. then they would fight the borg and unload on them, like why not do that against the romulans? anyway, good clip, i missed the final two years of ds9, did see the last episode, kinda sucked.

I think Energy weapons are a big sci-fi fantasy and it's a part of it. But fights with kinetic projectiles, like in the New Galactica series, are awesome!

I used to watch this show all the time! I keep waiting for them to make a movie on DS9 but they just keep making them about the enterprise. I still think this is the best Star trek series. After all, shit gets blown the f*ck up and there are huge wars. When you think about it. That's how technologicly advanced species would fight each other.

The clip shows just how badass the Klingons appear to be: the Jem'Hadar vessels resort to simply ramming into them rather than trying to pick them off with their disruptors. If you ask me, though, the series could only resolve the Dominion thread one way: with war. Plus, there was the Bajoran religious baggage from the first episode which, while it could have been dealt with less bluntly than depicting madmen, cults, destiny, and climactic apocalyptic fistfights, ended up the right way I feel.

Stop using the god damn lasers plasmas and whatever, they are not energy efficient and cause minimal damage on materials they can resist enormous heat from atmosphere entry REPEATLY. Start USING PROJECTILES since you are doing close quarter fight anyways. cheap and reliable. You can fit composite warheads on them to go through whatever shield, layer, armor plates you got on the target.

I agree. But remember, if each of the ships took as long to destroy as in TNG or Voyager then the battles would take insanely long. Besides, who would want to see shields being damaged? I want stuff blown up dammit! Additionally, the ships' shields could've been damaged severely off camera and all of the sudden the camera focuses on the weakened ships just before they die.

Lot of re used footage in the battle. Scenes from the first battle for the Chintoka (sp?) system, also a lot from "fortune favors The Bold". The breen ship that turns from the camera is obviously flat and its turn doesn't seem to make physical sense. Having said all that, the show was in the tank already, and they were just wrapping up with whatever they had on hand. I remember an interview with Rene Oberjonois and he said there was a real sense that the last season was rushed.

Yes jerrymail, it is a real scene. DS9 is known for having huge battles with thousands of ships.. I agree, very impressive. It was ironic though at the end you could see the major difference unfolding between the klingons and the fed after they took cardassia prime. General Martok was drinking blood wine to their victory, where as sisko didnt feel much like celebrating at the site of soo much dead. lol

I've never seen a real battle in Star Trek, maybe because i've never seen all the series. It is really a scene of the TV Show? Impressive to see Romulans, Klingons and Federation spaceships fighting on the same side.

One of the best scenes ever: (Damar and Weyoun are discussing the Bajorans' belief that the aliens in the wormhole are gods.) Damar: You think the Founders are Gods. Weyoun: That's different. Damar: (Chortling) In what way? Weyoun: The Founders *are* Gods. This was written well before Sept. 11, 2001, but was so spot on.... the Dominion was written so wonderfully and chillingly with all the different groups, the cold mindset of the Founders, etc.

This just makes my feelings even stronger - forget going 'backwards' to the beginning with Kirk and Spock. The next movie should be about DS9. The DS9 we saw at the end of Season 7. Kira as Commander. Odo on the Founders homeworld. Elias Vaughn as XO ... the relief efforts in Cardassia ... there are SO MANY books that could be combined to make a GREAT movie and instead the idiots at Paramount are attempting to destroy Star Trek all together, and go Prequel ... IT WON'T WORK.

I read that Earth Spacedock 1 is technically more powerful than most of the Federation fleet combined. Like DS9, it's armed with 1000's of photon/quantum torpedoes, super powerful phasers... DS9 will probably never get a feature film because many of the cast didn't like each other and it was a chore for them to work together. No, no, DS9 (Terok Nor) was originally used by the Cardassians as a mining station to process ore mined from somewhere else (Bajor itself?). While it was a fully capable station (it would, however, dobutless have to source fuels and other supplies from somewhere, though I'm sure it could stock suifficent supplies to operate independtantly for quite some time), it wasn't particularly battle worthy at first (the Federation refitted it with heavy weapons platforms)...

The Federation uniform did look abit childish in the earlier seasons, but it looks fairly similar to the Klingon uniform by this time.
