well, I think every form of motorsport sees someone take over despite it being out of the ordinary. Usually, English drivers dominate F1 but Michael Schumacher (GERMANY) won the championship 5 times in a row. I'm glad we were able to have this discussion without conflict, as that seems to be how most people feel on youtube.

We'd welcome Kimi into WRC with open arms. Traditionally, Finns do dominate WRC. The last 5 years have been anomalies as Loeb has completely obliterated the competition, but Scandinavian drivers are always represented in the top 5 every season.

well, I apologize if I came of that way, but everytime Lewis Hamilton's name is mentioned it is either positive or negative (with negative remarks being unfairly racial a lot of the time). But there is a rumor that Kimi Raikkonen (the 2007 F1 champ), may be looking to jump into WRC after he is done with F1, and Finnish drivers seem to be the best at the sport (from what I understand).

Wow, easily excited? I'm not an F1 fan. I don't follow the sport closely. My point was that it'd be easier for the best driver in WRC to move to a sealed surface series like F1 than it would for the best driver in F1 to succeed in WRC, especially because current WRC drivers already spend 4-5 weekends a season driving on competitive tarmac.

It is the most challenging (most difficult, demands the highest mental concentration) place to drive formula cars! Do a search for Senna, Trulli etc onboard shots qualifying at Monaco and see for your self what it takes. Anybody with some race experience should be able to appreciate what those guys do in the circuit.

The only reason Bernie has F1 going there is the same reason he has them going to all the tracks they goto! MONEY! He doesn't care about what the racing is like weather its good or bad! Look F1 is not primarily about overtaking it's about ultimate lap time ultimate technology, ultimate performance over a single lap an a race distance. Too much overtaking would dumb F1 down we don't want another A1 GP/nascar/champcar style series. & you cant surely be telling me you would rather have the French Gp in dull old Mangy-cours than Monaco None of today's circuits have the atmosphere of Monaco, this the drivers favourite track. I don't give a shit if McLaren have won there 15 times, Monaco isn't a great racetrack and produces boring races with zero overtaking. When they had the first race there in 1929 the drivers complained that it was too narrow and unsuitable to race on even THEN. There was a race in 1950,but not one in 51,52,53 and 54. Zandvoort,Suzuka,old Nurburgring,old Spa(lethal and fast) are real racetracks. Monaco is just glamour.

The Original Portugal, Hockenheim, Imola, Mexico, etc. Green start lights, Fix all pit-stops with no speed limits, thaousands of hours lost in darkened rooms to get that set-up just so. Absolutely glorious! I liked the bouncy physics engine, and checking the frame rate on faster (!) machines. Where did I put those floppy disks?

now it's maybe laughable in graphic terms, but at times ( 92 ) that was the first ever F1 simulation ... and having played it it's very realistic drive, with already some good set ups only bad point : no F1 licence so you had to rename all the drivers, and the only retirement you get were from crash > or front/rear wing ... and driving in the wet was fun :)

Due to Timo Glock failing to keep his car running at full speed during the last lap of the Brazilian GP, the stewards have decided to slap a lifetime ban on him. Due to regulations imposed on non-Italian champions, Lewis Hamilton had to defend his title by racing throughout the whole of 2009 on 3 tyres only. We have relaxed the ruling for Heikki Kovalenien since he is rubbish on 4 tyres anyway. Ho ho ho that was a good one! CIAO!

to everyone who is trying to compare fangio to senna or schumacher. you cant compare the drivers, its just not possible. the drivers worked with different cars in different times. the men who raced in the 50's were some of the braveest f1 drivers ever. no seat belts, no barriers, and no fire suits or anything. you can compare drivers such as fangio to farina and ascari. and senna to mansell and prost, but you can never really compare the two together.

I really think there is a mistake inside the title of this video : it's not the year 1957 but 1956 because Fangio's driving a Ferrari 801 ex-Lancia D50 from the preceding year which wiewed the Alberto Ascari's death in Monza and the Lancia team'retiring. It's the only year Fangio drove for Ferrari. In year 1957 in then drove a Maserati 250F and won his best formula one grand prix ever

I don't think we need to be that old to realize that buddy. Just the way you study history you can study the history of F1 and see why drivers likje Fangio, Senna, Prost, Clark are on a different level. And in my personal opinion, Senna was on a total different level... he made things that were thought impossible and was a true genius.
