non è stata scritta apposta per Villa. il caso ha voluto che quando è morto Villa,durante Sanremo, astutamente per il tipo di canzone e testo, quale è "Canto per te", l'hanno messa in scaletta scaltramente subito dopo per creare pathos... sto provando a trasferire da vhs ma non è facile. la canzone completa è molto bella. in quel Sanremo altri vip accompagnavano i cantanti : Flavia Fortunato aveva Franceso Moser

Pochi sanno che questa canzone, in questa versione qui inserita incompleta (mancano circa 50 secondi), fu messa appositamente appena dopo l'annuncio in diretta della morte di Claudio Villa. Se si ascolta bene il testo si capisce perchè..."ora canto per te...ora che non ci sei..." Ho il video originale provo a metterlo .

This has also been sang by Cecilia Bartoli. Both versions are quite different from each other. I personally prefer Cecilia's version better but...you decide :)

Pavarotti's high notes weren't big ,just well-placed with squilo ,every middle sized spinto tenor had a bigger voice than P.For huge high notes check her Puritani duet with Gedda.Gedda drowned her out on the high notes.She had a huge voice but she couldn't vary dynamics,her diction got terrible horrible after the mid 60's and she lacked dramatic and interpretive skills.

I'm certainly young but I'm well nurtured about opera world and classical music in general, but still I know there's a lot to learn and there's always something new, I'm even learning from you right now, but is not untrue that she doesn't sound dramatic at all, lot of people have that misconception about classifying singers, they just don't get it right. Eva Morton, price, callas, jessy norman, those are dramatic timbres!

She was never a light lyric soprano, you know what a light lyric sounds like? Try Natalie Dessay! Joan's voice was HUGE. She the reason why Richard felt she was good for bel canto is because she was having issues with the higher pitches for Wagner, but in bel canto she had a top as easy as drinking water. I'm glad u point at that, if sutherland sang wagner is cause she dared to and cause she had the flexibility wich a few singers have, like callas or domingo, she is mostly lyric-light soprano not cause the extension but cause' the timbre, but she would never... never compete in that field with singers such as Briggitte Nielsen, Kirsten Flagstad, or Leontyne Price, cause' those are real battle voices they would make your house shake!... I would point out that in actual performance the mature Sutherland got many compliments on her acting. Examples are all over Youtube, available to all. Her Lucrezia Borgia, Anna Bolena and Donna Anna are a few. lavael32, your "China Doll" comment was ridiculous. And no one should expect great acting during concert performances. I am a singer, a music major. I compose music...and play guitar and piano as well. I hope your career has nothing to do with music, you seem unqualified.

I do both thanks. It wouldn't make any difference where you are concerned, given your hearing problems. Pavarotti said two important things. "The human instinct is always best"... meaning great singers are legends for a reason. You disagree not just with me, but the world. He also said "Sutherland had the greatest singing voice of the last century". Again you disagree, but you're wrong, and ignorant of great singing. If you want great acting, go to a play. Dame Joan was a singer.

Anche 'Canto per te' e 'Verso il 2000' hanno le strofe dimezzate": grazie, finalmente ho capito come mai fossero più corte delle esibizioni a Sanremo (quelle dell'86 e '87 le ricordavo ancora!). Proprio tali versioni ridotte erano quelle che avevo trovato in rete. Comunque, ecco almeno un "live" completo di "Casco blu".
