Watched this movie for the first time yesterday (downloaded it and a few other classic horror movies) I liked it, I enjoyed the fact that since it was the 30's there was no cgi, no stunts no anything, just what you see is what you get type of performance. Though the dummy being thrown out of the windmill was kinda cheesy overall, it was a great movie.

Are you a moron? I'm just asking, I've always wanted to know what a moron thinks about this movie. I know they always say 'boring' and they don't spell too great, but where do they come up with the wherewithal to think at all, put it in a complete sentence, and post it for the world? Now this is musical art at its finest!!! This instrumental is so cool and enjoyable to listen to it deserves a 10 star rating!!! I love those early 70s synthesizers, they are the roots of what is known as techno/trance today, hearing that synth go off reminds me of Kraftwerk and Tonto's Expanding Head Band!!! Overall I can say I love this early 70s experimental art rock, it is a work of art!!!

Nobody played Frankemstein as well as Boris Karloff. Glenn Strange and Bela Lugosi were ok but Karloff was way better IMO. He just really brought the monster to life.

its really upbringing, if you grow up in the church, preferably the 'black' church, or even just a church that has emphasizes on rhythm and percussion,a nd then you have people culture that has musics that emphasize percussion and rhythm, of course you'll have a better sense of it, same with just learning , after a few years you are just very in tune with it, nothing to do with race,

All that matters is that the music moves you and that you're giving the musicians their due when you "acquire" the tunes. I use YouTube to check out stuff I'm not familiar with and then scamper off to iTunes. Music is powerful. It can overthrow governments, or raise millions for the needy. It shouldn't be the cause of arguments about who is more natural at a particular style.

We do have a "feel" that is just inate within us however those of other races who have exposed themselves to black music who study and grow up with it usually adopt it within themselves too now 4 those who feel race is not an issue well my only question is why is it when a white artist performs records and basically does black music they are always more successful and never pay homage to the brothas that helped create the sound they profit from

I dont really think this is an insult to liturature like alot of the readers of the real novel think. In the movie the creature appears to be child like and very kind, however missunderstood. The child like demmeanor of the creature is much different from the book, but it is turned bitter and even evil by isolation and being hated by the human race. I think Victor Frankenstein was made a little insane in it though. Another movie that sticks closer to the novel would be very interesting however.

This is like spitting in the face of Mary Shelley. The monster was an articulate and intelligent being not some raging beast mumbling 'grr'. The creature actually narrates part of the story. They could have at least given the creature a voice, that's what made Shelley's novel famous.

Unfortunately, there's very little info about Clive out there. The best source I've found is an eighties-era book called 'It's Alive.' It's the most thorough book I've found concerning the Universal Frankenstein films and its stars. It may be available on ebay or from Amazon used book sellers. It's a great book. James Whale was also gay (the movie Gods and Monsters is about him) and used several gay actors in his films (Ernest Thesiger in Bride, Elsa L. - the bride herself - in Bride, etc.).

Ok. I did a little research. It seems that there is no evidence to suggest he was bisexual. He may have simply had male friends. So, i guess it's unfair to assume his sexuality. But, i found out he was married to Jeanne de Casalis after his first flush of success in Journey's End. They stayed married until his death, although they were estranged beginning in about 1934 or 35. She refused to claim his ashes after he died.

It is possible that Gene Wilder was very scared for years after making Willy Wonka and The Chocolate factory as Denise Nickerson was in that and she was on Dark Shadows (the vampire soap). Maclean Stevenson (Mash amazon boards show) was terrified of Conrad Bain (also of Dark Shadows) when they worked together so maybe Nickerson scared Wilder and that is why Wilder made this movie!

Hmm The music has weird shifts to it througout. Also you cant really make out what anyone is saying in most of the 2nd half of it while the musics going. The begining was very powerful though.
