Freddie is an amazing improvisor. When he's busy...he's saying something...when he's reserved he's saying something. To say that he is too busy, is to admit that the critic has no ears for jazz improvisation. (Must be a wedding band player at the DAV Hall, or something). Every quick flurry line he played colored the solo just the way he intended...Can't you hear it...can't you tell?

It was very very good. My only problem is that it was a bit busy for the song. Misty is a standard and sounds best when played very clean. I'm just not big on his interpretation of the song. He is an excellent player none the less.

What a crock of shit. Charlie Parker recorded his "best" album with a plastic saxophone b/c he hocked his good one for smack. Another good one I've heard is that a person can fix their intonation by buying a "good" clarinet. It's all crap. The way a person gets good is by practicing, practicing and listening. This person is probably in instrument sales or plays in their local orchestra.

hey Tony, If you really want to play the trumpet don't make the mistake and buy a cheap one. That's like racing a volkswagon in the indy 500. Many people give up because they can't get past the bad instrument. Rare are those who strive to be the best by starting on a cheap instrument. When I finally got a decent one I was in heaven. I was able to play without the restrictions of a terrible instrument. Besides you can always sell a good horn. You'll always get stuck with a bad one.

Mmm, I suppose~ Its all interpretation when it comes down to it. My take is that the start should have NO ferocity; its sad. But when it drifts into the triplet section, I like to play it with a lilt, when the sadness lifts somehow. He sota did that here; I like how he did the triplet bit, but personally think his 1st bit wasn't sad enough to show that contrast. Fits well into the Beethoven idea that way, I find - that the sadness in a sad piece can become hauntingly beautiful at the end~!

Man they where good!!! I'm glad i got to see them at illutions tour (actually skin and bones tour but whatever). Wish they still toured, honestly their breack up (even though axl still believes in guns and roses) must have been inevitable but just like cream and pink flooyd you just wish they could have done at least one more.
