Govern your tongue, please=P I love both periodic and modern performances, especially when great differences occurs. Personally, I'm a periodic performer. But honestly, I'm not gay, dear fellow, hehe. I love Levine, and I wish he one day could conduct a periodic ensembl, just for the excitement. The fact is perhaps a pain for you, but in Mozart's time, the baroque style was still the modern way to play and perform. It ended in the late 1800s and early 1900s. If i didn't persuade... I love Mars=)

This is outstanding...I live for the moments I get to hear performances at the MET...the orchestra is absolutely first rate...as anyone who has ever played in an orchestra knows, the bulk of the work is accomplished in the rehearsal...that is where the conductor earns his/her keep....the performance is just the icing on the cake.

From an acting perspective, this is the best Don Giovanni I've seen. He's so expressive. He's manic, breathless, wild eyed, facing the statue. He's taking in the craziest but most wondrous thing he's ever seen -- a living statue. Look at how he twirls like a crazed animal between the Commendatore and Leporello. Look at the crazy grin that doesn't leave his lips. He's losing it, and he knows it, but he won't repent. Artistically, what a performance! Bravo! And I don't even know who he is.

Giovanni Allevi ha sicuramente il merito di fare dell'easy listening pianistico, melodie orecchiabili, piacevoli, rassicuranti. Come personaggio mi è simpatico, naif. Però non paragoniamolo a personaggi di spessore musicale. Allevi è un bravo compositore di musica strumentale di facile ascolto per menti semplici. Insomma è la Pausini del pianoforte. Ed i critici musicali dovrebbero avere la competenza ed il coraggio di scriverlo, invece di essere servi delle case discografiche.

Probabilmente non è un musicista grandioso, non ha una tecnica sopraffina, usa schemi armonici vecchi ed antiquati, però qualcosa trasmette.Non basta questo? Cos'è l'arte? io ho come sempre la sensazione che ci sia incomprensione fra gli utenti sopratutto per un motivo. Cioè la conoscenza musicale. Quindi qui dentro abbiamo gente che ascolta leggera e conosce allevi perchè è un fenomeno di massa e poi c'è chi conosce la classica e anche la colta contemporanea.. Mi dispiace dirlo ma tra voi non potrà mai esserci un dialogo, bisogna conoscere molto bene la musica e anche le strategie che vi sono all'interno.. In sintesi (opinione personale) allevi FAI PENA!

May I add this? Tempi, the 'authentic' performance can all be debated, but the whole atmosphere conveyed was of maximum intensity, the most beautiful singing, the semi-staging with he singers very close by, very inventive use of the whole hall, balconies, etc. Note: d'Arcangelo has strangely dropped legato here but his Leporello was also one of the best I ever heard, not to mention amongst others Charlotte Margiono as Donna Elvira and Christoph Pregardien as the most firm Don Ottavio imaginable

I attended this performance twice, it has been a life defining moment for me. Note that this is a stage production specially adapted by Gardiner and the cast (without director!) for the great hall of the Concertgebouw Amsterdam. The idea of a chain of singers (and spectators) linking Don Giovanni to the Commendatore and transferring the chilling force which ultimately will drag the Don into... was staggering and soooo effective! The whole performance was Top, more than that, overwhelming.

Uagliò, penso che le emozioni che vi dà allevi siano da rispettare come ogni emozione, nessuno ha il diritto di castrarle o dire che valgono meno di altre però, solo per conoscenza, vi assicuro che di allevi in giro ce n'è una caterva e mezza nel senso che non tira fuori niente davvero speciale anzi molti dei suoi pezzi sono soluzioni già sentite e strasentite chiaramente per chi ha ascoltato un certo tipo di letteratura pianistica....

Se hai avuto la pazienza di guardare bene, avrai visto, che oltre a quei 2-3 che dici tu, c'è un'ampia selezione di musica che va dalla polifonia alla contemporanea... E questo per dirti che non sono un ottuso che ascolta solo la musica colta e che quindi so riconoscere che il tuo Allevi crea solo spazzatura

ragà...ma state skerzando????!!!! Allevi è un grande!!! E sentirlo dal vivo (xkè io sono stata a un suo concerto) è ancora + emozionante!! Beh certo nn è la musica x cui io vada pazza...ma non è ke xkè nn e musica punk house o rock questa faccia schifo!!!...Pensateci...se nn ci fosse stata questa di certo oggi non ci sarebbero tutte le canzoni ke si sento alla radio!!

putroppo credo abbiano ragione.. allevi non è un compositore classico nè contemporaneo. Mi ripeto la sua musica non può essere che definita pop. La musica classica contemporanea utilizza altri linguaggi e punto. Chiunque sia un compositore sa perfettamente che la composizione tonale e derivati sia stramorta. Chi compone ancora con quel linguaggio lo fa per venire incontro al pubblico di massa, ergo per i soldi. Vedi Einaudi, Morricone, etc.

Cogliere la bellezza di questa musica è da analfabeti musicali. E per quanto mi riguarda, mi dispiace, non posso svelare chi sono... Però non so potete farvi un pò di cultura musicale andando a guardare i miei video preferiti, oppure andando a leggere qualsiasi enciclopedia della musica, o al limite su wikipedia, sotto "musica contemporanea"...e i compositori che vi vengono proposti (chissà magari ascoltate casualmente anche qualcosa anche di mio).
