hmmm the video reminds me of To Sirius Saw these guys late night with ATR and In Flames. ATR was a letdown and 36CF was godawful. I ended up leaving before ATR could butcher Six. But Gojira's set was so fucking intense!!! BEST PIT EVER.

It was a freaking blast. ATR and In Flames are always amazing live. It was my first time seeing 36CF and they were just as astounding. I hadnt really listened to Gojira until I saw them. From the first drum beat to the last scream I was entranced by Gojiras power and awesome presence. Phenomenal band indeed. :D

Uh, I agree this isn't nu-metal. But this definitely isn't melodic death metal either. Your melo-death bands would be your In Flames, Soilwork, Dark Tranquility, etc. This has a very distinct influence of bands like Sepultura, whom aren't melodic death metal at all. Regardless, great band.

Well... no it's not, it's Joe talking about what he thinks of Metallica, you could therefore argue that Metallica were an influence on Gojira, just by the very fact Joe was into them, where ever or not you think they sound like them is subjective.... so in your opinion they sound nothing similar to Metallica, but then again as you reply to youtube comments calling the person "dumbfuck", i'm not entirely sure whether or not i should even heed your opinion.

Gojira's imaginal power has nothing to do with verisimilitude but rather its opposite, which is power of the viewer will him thru suspended disbelief. Idiots in Hollywood and dumb movie-goers are missing the point that was made thousands of years ago to audiences of shadow-shows: the less visible, the more powerful the story and emotional impact. Not to mention that Gojira was played by a great dancer. There is a synesthesia occurring in those flicks absent from more 'sophisticated' latter films

Nor is the head of Geography at Standford. And Harvard. And the Founder of Greenpeace. This is because the earth goes through natural heating and cooling cycles every 500 years or so, and that is proven. Actually, it's pretty much been absolutely scientifically proven. Even "conservative" scientists agree that it's happening. Btw, the term is actually "global climate change". The earth does it on it's own. Human beings are just accelerating the process. The Sahara Desert actually used to be an ocean. There's nothing we can do to stop it. But, what we're doing is making it happen much, much faster than it's supposed to.
