CeCe has the most lovely smile. It's like sunshine. I'm not really religious but I was brought up in a religion and the singing always sounded so somber and serious. I never understood why they couldn't show the joy they have in worshipping God. The singing is as important in praising God as anything else. That's why I love this type of Gospel music.

Rather than mourning the fact that Ellen was on the show, shouldn't you be praising the Lord for the opportunity to share with her the Jesus that paid the price to save us all? The song says "I surrender all." You can surrender your sadness that Ellen was on the stage and thank God that Jesus died on the cross for her too. I know that the Oslo Gospel Choir has sung in the US altleast one time. Back in 2001 they held a concert in the Sweet Holy Spirit Church in Chicago. The concert was recorded on CD format and is available from their website. The Oslo Gospel Choir sang with some legandary US gospel singers during this show, including Albertina Walker and Delois Barrett Chambell.

True enough. Few would dispute what you state here. People are people and there are plenty of folk who succeed pretty damn well at living by the golden rule whether or not they consider themselves religious. I saw The Soweto Gospel Choir perform at Stanford University this evening and most of their songs were in a language I don't understand. I have been looking for the movie called A.D. It is an amazing movie and I wish someone would post it. It is about the events following the crucifixion. It shows the resurrection and the receiving of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. It makes me cry every time I watch it. Even though John was the latest Gospel (canonical gospel) written, it wasn't as late as 2 generations after the crucifixion. In fact, the earliest manuscript of any gospel we have is a fragment of John found in Egypt dated at the year 125AD. Meaning that it is much older than that for it to have gone all the way to Egypt and been spread out to people that would transport it. I'd say around 80AD is a better place to mark it's first print.
