I worked in the 60s in TV stations for CBS, ABC & local networks. I can confirm there was not all the technology you needed for a live band to play. maybe one monitor & the techs often kept the band at bay, not the bands fault. You may get lucky & have 1 or 2 Fairchilds (602 )or Pultecs, Gates Sta-level, CBS Volumax/Audimax & very basic desk eq/limiting & pre amps and little time to set up. The components we use today just were not around in the 60s. The Grape were 1 of the better bands around.

Sure you did. If this was 1967 or after there was all the technology you needed. Those who defend these clowns have got the right to. But things like keeping the host waiting to tuning your instruments only seconds before performing to making all that backstage noise to pulling those dumb and condescending faces reeks of pretention and self importance. A band that sucks its own dick by claiming to "bridge the geography gap" (whatever that meant) is a bore.

It never fails to amaze the micky mouse productions that people post on Youtube. A suggestion, get a 20 dollar TV card for your computer. Using a video camera on an LCD screen is better than some of the other productions I've seen where they used a CRT TV. You don't get all the scan lines, but the audio still blows and you still get the reflection of the screen.

Being from the tail end of the babyboom I remember the name Moby Grape and have been sampling them on this web site. I know that mostly their fans will watch this vid and see this posting but I have to say that this band takes itself much too seriously. The pseudo-intellect hippiness that this weak sound tries to project is cliché and a bore. Sorry if that offends but it now explains why they were used in Beavis and Butthead as a favorite band of the hippy teacher Mr. Van Drissen.

Just awesome. I love how much in command she is. I think she is a musician's musician. Her timing and phrasing are impeccable, totally effortless. The musicians sound like their instruments play themselves (with a singer like her, in a way it is exactly like this). Her cool "no drama queen" approach might not please everyone though. one of the true lost classics of great albums of the 60's or any decade ..grape was just too talented ...of course skip spence was in the airplane too....the playing of jerry miller and peter lewis along with spence is some of the most beutiful and the most rocking..its' ashame they should have been bigger...one of my all time favorite albums ..if you don't have it get it you won't be dissappointed...

I hope this band gets the reissues it deserves soon. They re-released some of their albums last year, but I heard they were recalled because of a management dispute or something. Doesn't surprise me, since apparently that's been the story with this band since the beginning. They coulda been huge if they didn't keep getting tied up in record disputes and stuff like that.

This is a great recut trailer. I don't know why no one understands that it is making it look like a mystery/suspense film. It says it in the more ifo section. People need to read. It didn't ruin anything. Yes the sound was a bit bad the music was great, especially the Flaw song. perfect.

um..you're good at the techniques but you kinda make the movie seem like it has a completely different storyline to the actual movie. for example the scenes when gilbert is hitting arnie, when gilbert sets the house on fire, when gilbert almost runs over the sister and when he's knocking down the wooden pillar things, you're making gilbert look like the bad guy of the movie. otherwise its good :)
