I remember seeing this video on MusiquePlus over half a decade ago. At the time I thought this band was just another punk band playing metal tunes, or another "nu-metal" band or something, but having said that I really liked this song and video. Upon doing some internet research, I found out that they had apparently influenced a lot of the bands that I was into at the time. I "acquired" all of their songs, and now Helmet are one of my top favourite bands.

YEAH!!! Been listening to Helmet since the early 90's, along with Metallica, Megadeth, Danzig, RATM, etc. Funny thing was, I was shocked when I saw a picture of the band for the first time. In the early 90's, musicians that rocked this hard had long hair, had goatees, and wore black. These guys were always clean-shaven, wore baseball caps and cargo shorts. The drums completely lack the timing and precision, just a muddy mess.J.Staniers drums IMHO defined Helmet,coupled with Pages riffs and intense vocals it was as precise as rock music could get, an unstoppable force, yet to be matched by any band since.IdK were the hell page found these drummers but they are not worthy to even smell J.Staniers soiled underwear!

Although I think Stanier is the best metal rock drummer ever, I think drums on monochrome are pretty good. Now that's studio, because live I don't think any drummer can match Stannier. None. The killer part about Helmet was the timing - the off tempo transition stuff. This is a good song but it's all 4/4 timing. Not nearly as complicated as stuff off Meantime or Better. The drums and Stanier have a lot to do with that.

Kyle Stevenson on drums has been a huge improvement, unlike Tempesta who approaches drums as if it was a race,Stevenson carries proper tempo which allows his hard hitting style to come through.Still not the original lineup but has surely improved since size matters came out. An original helmet reunion would be insane, likely not going to happen though.

How can people say "absolutely superb",I think an absolute abortion of a great tune.Page deserves better musicians to play with him.Tempesta is a a good drummer until asked to duplicate J.Stanier's work, at which point he becomes cover band quality.The rhythm of this song is complete lost in this rendition,anybody that thinks this is "superb" never saw this song performed by the original lineup.Sure I'm harsh, but in the 90's nobody pulled a set off like the original helmet.This is ok at best.
