If you have a situation where there is an aggressor/victim and the aggressor limits his potential victim's freedoms then the objective is to control the aggressor's behaviour. Any good system should then attack the aggressors' behaviour through education and upbringing. Now what I see in the muslim world is the victims having the education and upbringing with no redress for the men. It is almost that the women deserve what they get. I think the hijab has encouraged this topsy turvy situation.

If someone wants to be an indevidual and express themselves through their clothes then thats fair enough But it's the same for women who wear the hijab They choose to wear it so people perceive them as modest, and base their opinions on their personality or behavior not their curves Ever heard a woman say "look at my eyes plz not my boobs!" in movies or in a personal expirience? That is a communist attitude. Would you like to have one type of car, house etc for social harmony. But your argument collapses as it applies to women only and not men hence it is gender based. I think the hijab by emphasising equality kills variety which in turns kills creativity. Clothes are part of the artistic expression people have to show their individuality and the story they wish to tell of themselves. If you want to continue an inbred society then of course the hijab would be just fine.

One can rock a hijab and be fashionable as well. One can personalize the Hijab. However, I am of the opinion that the fashion industry is frivolous and shallow and encourages a view of humanity that focuses on correlating personal style with personal value and to me that lesds to just further inequality. The hijab seeks to demphasize the focus on womens beauty that too often subsumes any other sort of value she possesses to her look.

We create art or sculpture to enjoy them. Gods beautiful people should be admired as living works of His art. They bring cheer to the world. Hijab on a beauty is like putting a black cloth on a Ferrari. If you have a beautiful work of art it's value is in its exhibition. People who see can enjoy it without owning it. If you lock it away for fear of vandalism then you are surrendering to a destructive fear that has taken away that beauty from its beholders. That's a loss.

The immediate view is that it is nice for women to hide their beauty. But one could argue that the hidden value can distort its value. I can say that I am happily married but still love to see beautiful women go past with nice body/clothes but I see it like I see a flower, art, sculpture to appreciate and to make one appreciate life more. I can't understand the point the teacher made, how come that hijab is against the freedome of religion? these are two separate matters, aren't they? everybody practices a religion, even thoes who don't belong to a known religion, they practice their own thaughts and beliefs. why should this innocent girl be forced to take off her Hijab and stop practicing her religion for the sake of thoes who practice another religion. this means that Islam is the one ment by all this stuff.

That's not fair. When I wore my hijab for the first time to school yesterday, that same exact thing happened to me. Even the persuasion except he said take it off or go home and that day was filled with important tests that would determine where we were placed in our next grade. It was terrible, him watching me as I removed my hijab :(

Allah made one religion which is islam people are still waiting to accept it. Islam includes christianity, judaism and previous prophetic teachings. i dont think this video really hits the nail on the head, in the video the girl should have had her face covered, like most of the muslim women in the UK are doing (and protesting for) - I dont think it should be allowed - why should you have to hide your face!! and if you do, dont blame civil society for not liking you or even accepting you.

i am a muslim who chooses to wear hijab.I think it is sad to see someone who clearly hasnt got Islam in mind claming to be a muslim.Maybe u should read your Quraan and see the piece of advice men get to lower their gaze and try tht one instead of saying tht a woman should do something tht is not required by Islam just because u are unable to control yourselfs.May Allah help and save u from your thoughts and help u to open your eyes on the Quraan rather then the woman.

Simplemente que el q una mujer se sienta agusto y quiera agradar a Allah usando el hyjab no es incompatible con q también quiera sentirse guapa y agusto con ella misma, siempre y cuando lo esté haciendo por gustarse a ella y no por sentirse atraída. Hmmm, not sure about that. I mean, the niqab would of course cover the face but, it would still leave the eyes unveiled, which means that women would still have the margin to wear eye-make up and seduce men. Therefore, i recommend the regular sheets, the ones that haven't been pierced.

I guess what they mean is its kind of a paradox to cover your hair to CONCEAL your beauty, yet you cake on the makeup to look gorgeous.. it wouldn't make sense to some people. I'm actually dueling on this matter because i wish to insha'Allah wear the hijab, but I want to be convinced that it is what it is. I feel like these women are trying to make the most of the hijab by attracting attention to themselves when the purpose is to make men lower their gaze. You know what i mean?

Actually you can go clubbing and you can go swimming... but why the heck would you go clubbing for with hijab on it doesnt make sense. you go to a club to attract attention to yourself hijab keeps a woman modest in her appearance. a hijabi doesnt want random dudes staring at her etc... so if a hijabi doesnt want random dudes on her back she wont go to a place inviting that you know wat i mean. and as for swimming there are new bathing suits for modest woman think surfer/diver suits but looser..

even though the quran does not mention directly how to cover the aurat, it doesnt mean you can interpret it blindly. the body of a woman is appealing and men are easily aroused by them. that is why women should cover the more than men. Including the hair, which is commonly covered by the scarf/hijab. our body should be covered similarly, that it wont induce men. ISLAM ASSURES THE SAFETY OF WOMEN AND DO NOT EXPLOIT THEM. Salaam. I liked this video because a lot of the time you see videos where a Muslim women is a non-hijabi and the reason she gives is because of her interpretation of the command of Allah SWT but this video I think shows a representation of a lot of other non-hijabis where it may just be a weakness that they have or something to that affect. And we all have weaknesses Allah created us that way so I think we should show support to these sisters and be kind and gentle with them in discussing hijab.

have introduced myself with clothing and fashion history and what I found is that in Islam first there were no niqabs and burqas but only modest dresses and headcovers. Mostly in the year 500 there was much christians around Muhhammed and jewish and arabian tribes (not muslims of course)where married women must cover their faces and bodies totally. For excample Byzantine christian women used to wear face veils and long dresses with long sleeves. Muhhamed just took these customs over.

Im sorry if my feelings offend you. I had just been watching a clip of the police arresting women for not wear there Hijab correctly. It was awful. I personal think that women look beautiful in a Hijab. But I also think in some countries (not all) the woman doesn't have the choice to wear it or not. I THINK IT SHOULD BE THE WOMAN'S CHOICE. have introduced myself with clothing and fashion history and what I found is that in Islam first there were no niqabs and burqas but only modest dresses and headcovers. Mostly in the year 500 there was much christians around Muhhammed and jewish and arabian tribes (not muslims of course)where married women must cover their faces and bodies totally. There only 1 billion muslims. And i dont find any culture in Islam. Only Indonesians have Islam as thier religion but still keep thier culture as well.
